Big Ten Tournament in Chicago Information

Heading to Chicago this weekend and need some information on the Big Ten Tournament from people who have went. Tickets are starting at $75 on stubhub and other sites right now.

- How much can you get them when scalping?
- When should I go to scalp Iowa tickets for the 8:00 pm game on Friday? (assuming we win)
- Is is possible to move down to better seats when the people from the first game leave?
- What are some good bars around the United Center?

Thanks!

The United Center is not in an area like Wrigley Field (fun carnival atmosphere). Step off the corner of Madison and Damen by a block in the wrong direction and you are in the Hood. If you want to hang out at a bar within walking distance it is "Billy Goat Tavern" or nothing. There is a stadium bar open to the public without a ticket for the game, It is a good place to hang and possibly pick up an extra ticket.

I recommend hanging at Piece (they brew great beer and have awesome NY Pizza), and cabbing it to the UC when ready.

Ticket scalping is illegal in Illinois and I have seen cops arrest people, be very careful... Never scalp with a cop in sight. When a team that is supposed to play in the session you want to get a ticket for loses; hang outside the gate that opens to Madison Ave, and offer people coming out $50 for the rest of their "strip".

Gold Coast tickets has a location nearby they are your best bet, or people leaving the stadium in Big Ten Team Gear, do not buy from the people that look like they may have come from the public housing in the hood, they may be in shaggy clothing with "print at home tickets".

You cannot move from 300 level to 100 level, Security is tight as a nuns *** in the UC.

Probably have better luck walking into the CIA headquarters than getting into the 100 level with a 300 level ticket at the United center.

I'm guessing you can't go back into the United Center if you leave during your session? Like fans of teams who lost the first game of the session can't leave and then you buy their ticket and re-enter the session for the 2nd game?

What's the BTT's policy on serving alcohol during games? I'm guessing no, but I also know Delaney would sell his first born child to sex traffickers if the price was right.

I have never been to a B1G tourney so dont take this as gospel, but I would assume the best time to get cheap tickets for Friday's 2nd session would be right after the Purdue/Nebraska game. The fans of the losing team would more than likely be looking to unload their tickets for the next day.

You would then have to hurry in to catch the tipoff of the Iowa game though.

There will be eight Nebraska fans there.

The ticket package is what I hate about tournament play. You think they would make more money doing individual game tickets, or at least have a better crowd on hand for each game.

Anyone know the reason they do this? Do they only do this because it’s the way they have always done this? Why not offer a place in the UC where fans can legally sale their unused tickets, or trade them.

Oh and everyone is right about the UC found myself in a bit of a pickle after a show there.
