Big Ten suspends MSU's Gholston...

as announced today. They issued a one game suspension for MSU d-end William Gholston for violating the league's sportsmanship code in the Michigan game last week.

I am glad the conference stepped up and did the right thing,and did not wait for MSU to complete their investigation,and issue their report which they indicated could take some time, probably until Dec 4th.

1 game is ridiculous... The suspension is just based on this punch... which in my opinion, is not as bad as the twisting of Denard's head. That could have turned out very ugly.

It is absolute BS. MSU has quickly become one of the teams I hate most.

Dantonio is a joke. remember that RB who put a MSU hockey player in the ICU and served jail time in the off-season? no suspension whatsoever. this is no surprise.

+1 If anyone were to do what Gholston did outside the arena of sports, they would (and should be) subject to arrest.

The B1G has not been looking good in recent weeks especially on the sportsmanship front. Remember the Illinois player, Jonathon Brown, who took a cheapshot to a NW player's never-regions a couple weeks back. Here's the video to refresh you if you can't remember:

These incidents are black-eyes on the conference and these guys should have been given harsher penalties to set the precedent that this crap won't be tolerated in our league.

Totally agree. And this sends what message to MSU (and the rest of the league)? Pretty cheap for the cost of doing business the Dantonio way.

I was more bothered by the twisting of Robinson's neck than the punch he threw. But obviously together, worth at least a 1 game suspension. Makes you wonder how many other cheap hits, etc., he has made in the pile ups ... Football is a physical game but no room for that crud ...
