We need something fun to celebrate the start of B1G play.
Let's get a Pick 'Em going for the Big Ten conference, and hopefully we can get a bunch more participants since we have a few more days to get people in. @RobHowe will gladly mention that I muffed the regular pick 'em up last week because I went fishing, but I have a reminder in my phone for both of them now.
Here's how we'll do it, keeping it simple...
Pick 7 winners each week, 1 point for a correct pick, 0 for an incorrect. Friday games will be included in that particular week. For example, October 30 (Minnesota @ Maryland) is considered Week 2. Winner has the most points at the end of the year.
To get some more giggles and as a way to make a fun tiebreaker at the end (if needed), pick each game who you think commits the first penalty. I will use ESPN's box score as the Bible for that. In case we need a tie breaker at the end it will be decided by your "placing" in that category. Same thing, correct guess is 1 point, incorrect is 0.
We'll have the regular season Pick 'Em champ, and we'll have the prop bet penalty champ, aka, "The Gambler."
To make things even more fun, the last place guy who completes the pick 'em (we don't wanna honor anyone who drops out mid stream) has to use an ISU avatar of the group's choosing for one calendar year. You can buy your way out of this with a verified donation to the Childrens Hospital of $50 or more. This will kind of be a badge of honor because it means you didn't quit when falling behind. Still a loser, just an honorable loser.
