Does anybody else think Charles Bently needs to go, I don't think he has a radio/tv voice, and compared to John doesn't sound to knowledgeable.

Before we throw LeCharles under the bus, lets give him some time to get comfortable.
Sure he doesn't look comfortable, but it's a somewhat difficult format. The changing subjects every 2:00 can make it tough to thoroughly explain a point.
I'd like them to get like 4:00 to discuss a subject, but it is what it is.

He is doing ok, give him some time. Also, can they zoom out a little bit, at one point i could tell Jon was reading a prompter.

That is true, it will come with experience. On the other hand if I were putting on a new show that I wanted people to watch I would get 2 geat tv personalities, no green horns.

John your doing good. Do you read off a teleprompter?

I thought LeCharles did a MUCH better job this week as opposed to last week and the show as a whole was much better as well.

My favorite part was the look on Jon's face when they moved to "What B10 Defensive player would you pick" segment. IIRC he even made a "This isn't fair" type comment. I was shocked he picked AC. Jon, you're such a Hawkeye Homer, now the world knows it! ;)

I love the show and think LB improved a ton from week 1 to 2. Lets give the guy a few weeks, it is a very good show now and will continue to improve. Miller is darn good on the show.

I thought he was much better from the first episode. I thought he was pretty good this time around. Only thing bothered me about this episode is every time they showed charles I could see Jon in the reflection behind him, a little distracting.

I don't think Bentley needs to go. If I remember Jon said a couple weeks ago was his first time on tv doing a prompter type broadcast. I think he has steadily improved since night one when they announced the divisions.

This. And Bentley is still a hundred times better than Troy Vincent.

The other new guy Derrick Rackley is pretty good especially teamed up with Anthony Herron, who IMO is the best of them all.

Man I thought I had an awesome eye, but you saw this also. It was weird, because I'd find myself staring at Jon's reflection to see if he was throwing up the bird or something when the camera wasn't on him.

It bothered me at first, but i thought it was someone behind the glass.

Does anybody else seem to think LB doesn't really pay that much attention to Jon? He seems to be in argument mode the entire time, even when Jon's point is the same or in agreement with his. I like some of his points and arguments, but think his voice level can be dropped down to conversation level speaking, versus the almost PO'd tone he's had so far.

Agree.
troy vincent was a complete bust as a studio analyst. So bad he was offensive.

LeCharles is much more positive and clearly a lot smarter and happier than vincent was/is.

Herron and Rack are great, very natural and evenly enthusiastic. Moose Muhammad is showing positive things, and I think Roosevelt Colvin did ok this evening on the the Football Report.
Nicole Zaloumis is hawt. :)

Couple of thoughts here...

We changed the format this week, from last week...fewer topics in the A block (that is the first segment before the first commercial break) but more 'sub topics' on the same two topics.

I haven't been all that pleased with how I have performed these first two weeks..have been pretty irritated with myself actually, because I know I can be much better. The problem we are having now, which will probably be gone in a few weeks, is that the format, the structural elements to the show, the alternating person setting up the next topic, etc, that is what I am spending too much time thinking about, and not enough time bringing better opinions.

Again, this is just about reps. A few more weeks, and it's going to be much, much different.

I liken it to a freshman playing cornerback...as a freshman, he is thinking a lot, as opposed to reacting. Once he gets to be a late soph, or a junior, he can just react and while his straight line speed may not have changed any from the moment he got onto campus, he plays faster because everything is instinctual because he knows the system.

This is the same for this program, and most TV programs. It's a lot easier going from TV to radio than it is radio to TV. However, while I am ticked with myself right now because I want it to be outstanding every time we go on, I realize that this is a process and LeCharles and I have to build chemistry...its not like Deace and I starting a radio show, or State of the Nations...we had known each other for 5 years before starting SOTN, and for nearly a decade when we started M&D in the AM.

We'll get there...its never fast enough for me because I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to TV work. The finished product hasn't been as bad as it felt getting there.

-As for my extra chin skin...the little bump I have on my chin, I was not born with that...we'll just call that one of the reminders of why I don't drink any more. As for the manscaping, the brows are growing out...next week should see much improvement ;)

-Funny about this; one of the head producers was watching us tape the show the first week, and told the makeup artist that something needed to be done about my eyebrows. Then I get on the site and there is a three page manscaping thread ;)

I told her this week that there was no way I was gonna let them 'color' them in, because too many people are watching this stuff too closely ;) But they will grow back quick. This is a different game ;)

-Yes, my setups have been on prompter. I have been reading sports reports for radio for four straight years and have some past prompter experience, so it's pretty natural for me and I make sure to include facial expressions and hand gestures to make it seem even more 'real'. I prefer not to do prompter, like my weekly Channel 13 predictions, those are off the cuff. I have no idea what I am going to say before I countdown to record it. I like it that way

LeCharles had never done prompter, and he was much better this week. He is a real, real quick study. I was impressed with his segment transition this week compared to just one week ago. We'll get there, and Thursday we gave each other permission to get after it...we have to accelerate our chemistry if this is going to be what we want it to be. We will get there.
