Big Ten NCAA Seedings

One advantage Michigan State has is if they win the first 2 rounds that bracket has their Sweet 16 in Chicago, which I think is a huge advantage for MSU. Its also an advantage for either Iowa State or Purdue facing Virginia in the Sweet 16 round.

Texas Tech an 8 seed??? Wow...they were a bubble caliber team, lost to freakin TCU and get an 8 seed??

The committee clearly didn't think much of the Big 10. So Iowa's 7 seed makes sense relative to how the other Big 10 teams were seeded IMO.

The committee clearly loves the Big 12. But Iowa State's seed doesn't make sense relative to how the other Big 12 teams were seeded IMO.

1 (Seed) - Kansas = 1-1 (vs. ISU)
2 - Oklahoma = 2-1
3 - West Virginia = 2-0
5 - Baylor = 2-0
6 - Texas = 1-1
8 - Texas Tech = 1-1

Iowa State is 4-9 against the other 6 Big 12 teams in the tournament...no road wins and couldn't protect their home court. Kansas, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Texas all finished ahead of Iowa State in the conference standings. Baylor tied Iowa State in the standings but swept them.

So Baylor is a 5. Texas is a 6. And Iowa State is a 4. There's no logic here whatsoever. Iowa State's best road win (and only road win against a team in the NCAA field is @ Cincinnati). Texas Tech's win at Baylor is just as good. So Iowa State should be a 7 or 8 seed IMO. I can't fathom how they end up a 4.

Iowa dropped to a 7 because of all the late losses, spread those losses over Jan-March and hawks are a 5 or 6.

ISU getting a 4 seed is really weird.

Just thinking outside the box...does the seeding somewhat depend on the fact that teams from the same conference cannot face each other until AT LEAST the 2nd round (if they only played once in the regular season), AT LEAST the regional semifinal (if they played twice in the regular season) or AT LEAST the regional final (if they played three times in the regular season). I have to believe that some of the seedings HAVE to be rearranged in order to meet those requirements, especially for teams from the B1G, ACC, Big 12, and others that have so many multi-team bids.
