BIG TEN LOGO/DIVISION NAMES TODAY

The Ford-Kinnick Leadership award is cool. But I don't like the compulsion to put two names on every trophy and making sure every school is represented. You shouldn't get a ribbon just for participating.

The Dungy-Thompson humanitarian award, in particular, seems like a pretty big stretch just to get an Indiana player's name on something.

couldn't have been better stated. I'm actually more upset about the division names than the rumors floating around. Who's niece/nephew came up with this garbage?

When I first read Legends and Leaders I honestly thought someone was just joking around. And the new logo is very, very bland. I would be curious if they did focus groups on this one.

It looks like the "I" in the logo is a 1 and the "G" is a 0....

Why do you put the number 10 in the logo when you are spelling out the word "TEN". Hopefully all schools will be required to display the logo in unison with 9 other BIG TEN logos.

I realize you aren't going to please everybody.. but man that is a very permanent mistake that is going to take a lot of time to get used to.

I see that point. I agree. I do think it will be difficult for some people to see the B10 in it though, immediately... so it could be confusing if people just see it as "BIG".

I looked closely at the N. There are some marked differences so I am not concerned about that. It would have been difficult to use a different letter, although the "M" would have been a formidable option.

Probably, but it was all Cyclone fans and they thought it'd be funny as hell if we get stuck with this PoS.

Posted earlier that I didn't like the new logo, but after seeing it applied to situations on the link from Jon's Opine, I kinda think it will work good. Better than I initially thought anyhow. The division names are still stupid and lame.

Hey Commish in honor of you the divisions should be

DUMB & DUMBER!

Here are some other options Delaney if you didn't like that one:

Overhyped & Underwhelmed
Autobots & Decepticons (Illinois needs to be in this division with the Zooker coaching)
Autotrophs & Heterotrophs (To academic for Nebraska fans)
Black & Blue (At least it implies toughness and ruggedness)
Dolphin & Swan (Well it worked for Disney)

In any event it is likely that Reece and the boys at ESPN will have hours of fun and jokes at the Big Ten's expense over this one....boy I can't wait!
