Big Ten expansion and Cyclone Fanatic

Ok. There are some real funnies over there.

1. The Big10 would like to drop Iowa
2. The Big10 would drop Iowa if Texas wanted them to.
3. Iowa brings NOTHING to the Big10

Some of the clowns on that board think ISU would be a good candidate to join the Big 10. I find that situation very, very unlikely.

or their nationally acclaimed volleyball team. An ISU friend of mine was bragging that they won the "Fall Director's Cup." When I asked him WTF that was he said, "The director's cup is the annual award given to the university with the best overall results encompassing all sports in a given semester."

Leave it to ISU to spin something like that that NOBODY has heard of.

Actually thats kind of a big deal.

But back to the point there was actually a thread over there in which someone suggested they "Proactively join the MVC". It basically said it would lower our travel costs and at least our football team could win on a regular basis.

I try to imagine myself thinking like a Cyclone fan and the only thing I can think of is that it is simply blind jealousy. They hate us so much, and yet they need us so bad. It seems that many of them do so without really thinking about what they write. WE must be everything they wish they could be but since they can't they turn to non-factual claims or insults against us. Don't they know or do they just simply ignore the fact that Iowa is the 17th highest $$$-makers in all of collegiate athletics and one of only 7 schools that can fully support itself without a conference? Yet according to UNIguyforCy the Big Ten would be glad to be rid of us. I know we aren't the premiere team in the league but we are definitley not the first team to go if the Big Ten did have to get rid of somebody(hypothetically speaking). I am sooooo glad that everyone in my family went to UI(including me) and we never had any affiliations with ISU. Fans aside, I just have no respect for that school at all. To me they are pretty much a drain in every aspect. I feel for thier logical fans but that school has no hope of anything anymore. Wrestling is what they are best at and they are one of the best in the nation...but even there we demolish them in achievement. It's actually kind of sad. I say down with the ISU game...it benefits only Lil' sis(and yes it is a law to play them in this state).

If ISU is left on the outside looking in (not in a BCS conference). I say we alternate playing them with UNI. (both of course at home). I mean Iowa will not go on the road agaist a non-BCS team - (virtually no BCS teams go on the road vs non BCS teams)

oh, and i think that "law" is Iowa & ISU have to play UNI at least once every 3 years (rotating who plays them)

I think playing Iowa State is a good thing (we beat them most of the time). I would prefer to play them the last game of the year.

I believe in the Iowa Iowa State series, Iowa has won 70% of time. Why not play them? If we lose, so what - it is not a conference game
