Big Ten Bracket Predictor

When I run it today...

Iowa 17-1
Maryland 14-4
Indiana 13-5 (3 seed)
Michigan State 13-5 (4 seed)
Purdue 13-5 (5 seed)
Wisconsin 10-8
Ohio State 9-9
Michigan 9-9
Penn State 7-11

So we probably go through the state of Michigan to get our rematch with Maryland in the Big 10 Championship game.

I put Iowa down for the worst case scenario losing @Indiana, @Penn State, @Ohio State, and @Michigan and they still get a double bye as a 3rd seed.

This is addictive.

If you just submit it without making any changes, it has us winning out and winning by 2 games over Maryland and Indiana.

I submitted with one change (Iowa losing at Michigan...worst case scenario IMO) and got the following.

1 - Iowa (15-3)
2 - Indiana (14-4)
3 - Michigan State (13-5)
4 - Maryland (13-5)
5 - Michigan (12-6)
6 - Purdue (12-6)
7 - Wisconsin (11-7)
8 - Ohio State (8-10)
9 - Northwestern (8-10)

So we would probably play Ohio State, Maryland/Michigan and Michigan State/Purdue/Indiana...under this scenario.

Edit - If I make no changes and click submit it is Purdue, Wisconsin and Michigan in the 5, 6 and 7 slots. Our likely opponents don't change IMO.

Just did this again, now show us and Indiana trying for the title at 14-4 with us winning the tiebreak. Maryland 1 game back at 13-5. That wisky loss for them was H U G E for us.

U guys really think MD loses 5 games?

The Predictor has them losing @ Purdue and @ Indiana. I also think they will lose both of those games. So 13-5 looks right to me.

Edit - Purdue has 1 home loss...and we know who that was. Michigan State got to OT with them but lost. Indiana is undefeated at home.

Click submit and Michigan State (3 Seed) ties Maryland for 3rd with Wisconsin finishing alone in 6th. Make one change...Wisconsin winning at Michigan State...and Purdue (4 Seed), Wisconsin (5 Seed) and Michigan State (6 Seed) end up in a 3 way tie for 4th.

This game has a huge impact on seeding for the Big 10 Tournament. Either way Michigan State projects to the other side of the bracket. But I want to play Maryland again so I'm pulling for Michigan State against Wisconsin...to potentially set up a Saturday game between Iowa and Maryland (assuming they get past Purdue).

Michigan State opened as a 10.5 point favorite.

Ran it with iowa and Indiana both going 14-4 and msu finishing 3rd. In that case iowa gets 1 seed based on better record against the third place team, msu.

I've decided predicting college games...in the Big 10 or anywhere else...is pretty much a waste of time. The rest of the season, the conference tournaments and the NCAA Tournament are going to be crazy.

So to win outright now, we have to win our last 3, have Purdue beat Maryland, then have Maryland beat Indiana. If any of those 5 games don't go our way, winning outright won't happen. There are still a chance we split the title with 1 loss tho.

Besides the Hawks wetting themselves when the lights came on (in a matter of 2 weeks, they've played themselves into a position where 6th place is more likely than 1st) the most amazing thing about this B14 season is that, once again, Wisconsin is very likely to finish in the top 4! I don't care about like, that's flat out impressive, especially considering the loss of Dekker and Kaminsky, that their returning nucleus is way inferior to Iowa's and a frickin' mid-season coaching change! When you see how mentally weak Iowa is, if the Hawks had experienced that, they'd be struggling to beat out Nebraska for a 1st day bye in the BTT.

Remember how disorganized and, frankly, bad Wisky was a few weeks ago. Remember what a paper tiger Indiana was a month ago? Remember when Iowa swept MSU and Purdue?:D Now they're prolly going to be smelling all those other teams' fumes.:(

Good Lord how quickly the pendulum has swung.:mad:

People were saying no way this team could fall apart like the one 2 years ago. That 2 years ago, they weren't ever very good. I said when that team hit top 10, they looked as good as this year's team. The only reason people don't remember them that way is because they had hindsight of the entire season. If this team loses the last 3, they will be remembered just like Marble's team is. People saying that there's no way this team would fall apart were as ridiculous as the people saying Marble's team didn't look just as good as this team did at their peak.

Win out and we're regular season Big 10 Champions (possibly/probably co-champions) and we're the 1 seed in the Big 10 Tournament and we're playing in Des Moines in the NCAA Tournament. We still control our own destiny...despite the 2 disappointing losses.

My expectations increased with how we started Big 10 play. But my prediction last March was 12-6. So realistically they will have met my expectations going into the season with 1 more win. Two more wins and they will have exceeded my expectations. And despite what's happened recently the sweeps of Michigan State and Purdue don't go away...and I enjoyed both very much.

Edit - Win 6 in a row and we're a lock for a 2 seed.

And all those teams looked like **** for stretches this year as well, like you stated. Iowa will bounce back
