If Iowa beats Northwestern, the only scenario that Iowa gets a 5th seed is if MSU beats Purdue and Indiana (2-0), and Purdue then beats Ill (1-1). AND OSU goes 1-1 or 0-2 (likely as they play Wisky). If by some miracle if OSU goes 2-0 it doesn't matter, as a 4 way tie of MSU, Purdue, Iowa and OSU at 12-6 Iowa is the 4 seed.

If Purdue beats MSU Iowa will control it's destiny for a double bye with the 4 seed when they play Northwestern.

Go MSU. I want the 3 seed and if MSU beats Purdue, we have a pretty good shot at it. As far as getting the double bye goes, we will have 2 chances to get it this weekend if Purdue loses. All we would need is for Purdue or MSU to lose.

I will also be rooting hard for Minnesota to beat Wisconsin. If that happens, whether we are the 3, 4, or 5 seed, we will have a chance to avoid Wisconsin's side of the bracket when they tip off against OSU on Sunday. If we are the 4 or 5 seed, we would want Wisconsin to lose. If we make it to the 3 seed, we would want Wisconsin to win.

Guess we need to be huge Wisky, Illannoy, and Indiana fans this coming weekend. That feels weird. If you take a look, the 5 seed's a really good spot for the tourney. We'd have to play the extra day, but it's the easiest way to the semis, so imo we're in kind of a no lose situation. Last and some off topic, but Crean is one weird dude...at least when he's coaching.

No offense, but you've got it backwards. We want PU to lose to MSU and ILL and Indiana to beat MSU. That gets us the #3 seed when we beat NW.

I still somehow want MSU to lose out then win a crap game so they can play Iowa. Then have Iowa knock them out of the tourney (both B1G and NCAA). I can't say how much I want this to somehow magically happen.

This is what you want then. MSU win over Purdue and lose at Indiana. Purdue beat Illinois. OSU beat Penn State and Wisconsin. That would make us the 3 and MSU the 6.
