BIG Game Saturday; Will IOWA students show-up??

I hope so.......Good grief, this team still has a chance to
Win the BigTen title. Plus, it's the BadCheezers, followed by the
Cornholers.

Toughen up, kids.

Unfortunately everyone is probably right. I'm not optimistic about the student turnout this weekend nor next weekend. On facebook, the people selling their tickets to the next two games outnumber the people looking for tickets about 10 to 1.

I hope I'm wrong.

Tickets are selling for $15 on hawkeye exchange. Hell I saw a 2 for $25. Wisky and Nebby. I wouldn't count on it.

This is a great base and not one to worry about and NEVER has been, when has it let this team down?? I'm more worried about which team is going to show up.

It would help if Iowa was actually ranked, but if students had plans to run home to hang out with their high school friends, the game probably is not enough to keep them in town.

Of course there will always be students like I was, that grew up on a farm and hating going home because it meant a weekend of chores. So i rarely went home when I was a student, but I know I am an exception.

Of course when I was a student there was no week long thanksgiving break. I remember for spring break, they would close the dorms and lock you out for the whole week. Do they still do that or do they leave the dorms open?

Found this from last year. If Iowa is doing the same thing this year, they are basicly telling the students to go home the Friday before the Wisconsin game.

Thanksgiving Break

Monday, November 4, 2013 - 2:33pm

Here are a few things to remember as we approach Thanksgiving break.

All building entrances will be locked*at 5pm on Friday, November 22, and will remain locked until 10am on Sunday, December 1.There are no meals during Thanksgiving Break. Contract dining ends at 2:00pm on Friday, November*22, and begins again for breakfast on Monday, December 2.Residents may occupy their rooms during Thanksgiving vacation at no additional charge if they have a legitimate reason, and if they fill out the proper paperwork from their hall’s information desk prior to Thursday, November 21.

Sorry broken screen cell phone. I'm looking for 2 tickets to the game with student ids included as i used to do to get in free to the game(the best is band members who get doubles.)My son is 4 so....it would help if you look young...

Weather forecast steps a touch more in the right direction.. temp up to high of 48, rain percentage down a touch.. looking like the big rain might be Sunday instead. Hopefully it keeps moving in that direction. I'd take 40s and minimal moisture in a heartbeat.

I'll be going to the game, and I found a few tickets for only $10 a pop so some of my buddies from back home can fill the section up some more. I have a feeling the student section will be about half full.

The kids are basically kicked out of the dorms, but that only accounts for ~6k of ~22k undergrads.
