Big 4 tourney in Des Moines?

Great idea. We play either UNI or Drake but not both in a single season and never on their court...although technically we are playing in Drakes home city. This opens up our schedule for an additional home game too. We keep ISU on a home and home schedule.

Great idea.

I wonder if they are going to play it as a double-header? That would be pretty sweet if they did. They could also do it as an 11 AM game and a 6 PM game so the arena has time to clear out and fill back up with new ticket holders but still on the same day.

huh? What is the point of playing this at a neutral site then? If UNI and Iowa are playing then put the game in US Cellular. What is the point in making both teams drive all the way to Des Moines if it isn't going to be a tournament?

Wussing out and not playing UNI or drake on their court, and gaining a home game every other year.

This isn't going to be a tournament.

how many does the US cellular center hold?

neutral court win or loss is better for all parties involved.

beer is served

Not enough, it is kinda small. So let's just play Drake & UNI every other year at CHA.

oh wait, beer? heck that would make up for the lost ticket revenue. :D

Wussing out? Not a tournament? Do you ever have anything positive to say?

Positive or not, i speak only the truth.

Love it. Will still play UNI and Drake every other year, and ISU every year, and hopefully the games will be carried on BTN....whenever we played at Drake,UNI and ISU we get no tv.

Time to spice up the schedule with some BCS schools...Pac 12 and Big East...home and away.

If the Hawks fill the open slot with a major conference team and I suppose this is where the PAC 12 comes in, it will be worth it. A home against a team from the PAC 12 is probably more exciting than a home against UNI or Drake.

I imagine this arrangement hurts those two schools by not getting home games against ISU and Iowa, so financially they take a hit, which is too bad.

But this is probably a good way to redo our schedule to fit in a PAC 12 school?

Butler, Indiana, Purdue and Notre Dame did this in Indianapolis this year. Indiana played ND and Butler played Purdue back to back. Seems like a good event, getting all the fans together in one building for a day.

also the beer thing is good

D-Twill's right...it's not a tournament. It'll be a double header type of situation because Iowa and Iowa State are tired of losing to Drake and UNI...it's the closest they can come to taking their ball and going home right now...

Iowa will play UNI this year and ISU v Drake. No more Iowa and ISU playing both UNI and Drake in the same season
