A buddy of mine from Chicago and I are planning on doing the entire four day event.

If anyone on here has done this in Indianapolis, I would appreciate any input. (Lodging, tickets, etc etc)

Feel free to private message me if desired.

Thank you/sdk

Me too Seth....1st time, so I'm not much help for tix, lodging, but can't wait...

Been to the United Center a few times for this, never Indy. Going this year. Buying tickets when I get there. No way Im spending 300+ for the entire tournament up in the nosebleeds. Pick the sessions I want as I go, buy good seats and Im still way under the price for the full strip of tix in the top of the arena.

Its been a while since ive been, but Indy has their downtown streets renamed after each big ten team. I went to a 3 level bar that was the hawkeye huddle. Cant remember the name, but Bowslby was in da house.

So it's better to spend on the sessions you want...less dough and better seats, rather than get the strip in the bleeders ahead of time?

I went to Indy in 2006 when Iowa won. I was in a group of 5 and we stayed at like a Holiday Inn or something. We were like 6 miles from downtown where all the bars and arena are so we could not walk there. The cost of a cab ride was like $15 bucks and split between 5 people that is nothing. The hotel further out was pretty cheap as well. If you reserve early you might get a decent rate downtown but they probably already have that weekend flagged to hike up the rates so you might not get a super great deal by reserving a room downtown early.

I seem to remember scalping tickets was super easy. Lets say Minnesota plays Illinois before Iowa plays pretty much 85% of the Minnesota and Illinois fans will leave after their game and not stick around to watch Iowa if they have a full session tickets. They would sell you the ticket to the Iowa game for $20 - $50 I would bet and the cost will depend on how good the ticket is. Also if Iowa plays deep enough when teams are eliminated fans who do not want to stick around will sell you the rest of their tickets and you can get a good deal from ****** off fans who just want to leave straight from the arean and head home.

You can price up buying a full session, but it might be pretty cheap to assume $50 per game that Iowa would play and see how the math works out. $50 might be the high end you pay for a really good seat. If you buy a full session you might not want to watch everygame anyway and scalping tickets might be a really good deal.

I hope this helps you a bit.

I have my 4-nights of rooms locked in. Session I and II tix also.

Anyone else going? I think this year could be monumental.

Really wish I could afford it, but that's probably out of the question for me. Plus it coincides with the high school tournaments, which I'll have to be in DSM for.

The first two night for sure, I have a spare bed. Staying at La Quinta downtown. My buddy may join me on days 3 and 4...not sure yet.
Sooo....for the price of tix, food, gas (room is a no-cost item)....could be doable.

I haven't been either but when a good friend of mine went they bought their tickets ahead of time. They then proceeded to scalp much better seats for Saturday and Sunday games. I think he just ate the cost of his tickets and got great seats for he and his wife for maybe $20 a seat.
