Bielema

I think I would have been okay with BB, but I've always backed Ferentz. I still contend that if he were at a blue blood school he would have a NC.

I think BF is the future. It's no coincidence that Kirk has changed so many things the last few years since Brian has joined the staff. Bill O'Brien, at least supposedly, wanted Brian on his staff with the Texans. I think he will do well with recruiting and eventually be a great head coach.

Then KF will have to put together a pretty good run the next 5 years.......He is off to a good start, but there is a long way to go.
Realistically, what saves KF is the B1G West. I'm not saying it should. That doesn't show his coaching ability.

Kliff Kingsbury on biels........i would never want him as iowa coach - no class.

This is exactly why I've never been a fan of Bielema's. I have had moments where I thought it would be nice to have a coach in Iowa City who is the anti-kirk, but in the end that's just not who I am and I feel pretty strongly it's not how the majority of Hawkeye fans want to be represented. He just doesn't have any class. He doesn't know how to handle success. He can't keep his mouth shut. No thanks to Biels.

Bielema can recruit, and the 02-04 run would not have happened without the players Bielema brought to Iowa.

That was 13 years ago. Biels was a lot younger and lighter then.

Touting that is the equivalent of saying we need to keep Kirk because of the 02-04 success.

Football coaching employment is about "what have you done for me lately".

Hayden ruffled a few feathers to, so what? I love it when Kingsbury, who has had very little success compared to BB says, "BB is a prideful guy, he says what's on his mind, it just hasn't worked out for him." Oh really? BB finished ranked like 7 years in a row at Wiscy and won 3 Big Ten titles. Kingsbury comes off as a complete idiot.

I think he means it hasn't worked out for him in the SEC...which he's right about...

Side note: is Greg Davis' stock rising? Baby steps. Baby steps.

I have been no fan of the derp from day one but I give him credit last night. Pitt came at is hard and they had a tough d. We really mixed it up and found what little they had to offer is. Credit to derp.

ruffled feathers is not what biels does. i don't ever remember HF not being classy - i don't ever remember him flat out insulting people.

Maybe but Texas Tech lost 8 games last year and Arkansas went to a bowl, so coming from Kingsbury, not an astute comment. I think people tend to forget, a lot of this is just recruiting politics. Both sides are trying to market their teams and playing styles to Texas recruits.

this is just one example from biels. why give a team a reason to make you bulletin board material?

I remember opposing coaches not liking what Hayden had to say and that's all that seems to be happening here. The article doesn't have any direct BB quotes, only what Kingsbury says BB said. Kingsbury says, "BB said if you throw it 70 times we are going to kick your ***" or something like that. And then Kingsbury goes on to say how he enjoyed kicking BBs ***. It sounds like Kingsbury has the lack of class from that article.

Let's see how the year ends. While the team seems to have improved a bit from last year, I really think it's because the team is behind CJ. Not Kirk

We still have some schemes that will limit us in games (like what seems to always be giving up a 1st down on 4th and long)

i would take BB because he'd be the closest tho g to Hayden. KF needs to win the division this year for me to jump back on

Absolutely still want BB eventually.

Only a complete fool would allow the events of a couple weeks to change their mind on a guy with an incredible track record of success.

Ferentz seems to have goten his act together though so best case would be for KF to ride Beathard to a couple good seasons, go out on top with a team in good shape for the next guy.

Then bring BB in after he's had his fill of the sec.

Arkansas is a no win situation and he'll be ready to spilt in a couple years.

I'd still take him. Winning 7 games playing in the SEC west should translate into 10 in the big ten west. I'm on board.

I still think Brett would do great at Iowa. Since he played at Iowa, I think it would mean more to him than his stints at Wisky & Arkansas.

That's a fair point. A straight forward personality like that may lead to some bulletin board material.. I still like BB though. I think his win % speaks for itself at 65.8%. That's pretty good (KF is at 58.1% for example). BB's teams have finished ranked 8 of 10 years he's been coach (including last year at Arkansas).
