Bielema/Wisconsin non-conference since 2006

Not hating on Wisconsin for their schedule. Some guys can't refuse cupcakes. It's human nature.

 WOW! He probably weighs more now than he did during his playing days...

He does do a good job of covering that big ol' belly up on the sidelines. At least our coach is in good shape, we've got that going for us! #smallvictories

And in that same timeframe, KF has lost to 3-9 ISU in 2007, 5-7 Western Michigan in 2007, Pitt by a point in 2008 cause he just had to give JC6 one more shot, beat FCS UNI by a single point with a Top 10/BCS winning team, lost to 6-7 ISU last year, and lost to 6-6 ISU and 6-6 Central Michigan this year. I'd take BB's record over that, IN A HEARTBEAT.

I guess as an Iowa fan I would be ok with that nonconference schedule if it resulted in these bowl games:
Cap One
Outback
Champs x2
Rose x3

Instead of a tougher nonconference that resulted in these in the same time frame:
Alamo
Outback
Orange
Insight x2
NONE x2

Kirk just likes to give us our $$$$'s worth by keeping it close and providing an exciting game... duh!

Zero road wins against non-conference BCS league opponents
Ferentz has these 3 in 14 years:2003 ISU (2-10)2006 Syracuse (4-8) took 2 OTs2009 ISU (7-6)
Five total non-conference regular season wins against FBS teams who finished with a winning record (out of 21 total non-conference regular season games against FBS teams)
Let's do Kirk
2001 Kent State 6-5 Miami-Oh 7-5
2002 Miami -Oh 7-5
[quote2003 Miami-Oh 13-1[/quote]
2004 Iowa State 7-5
2009 Iowa State 7-6 Arizona 8-5
2012 Norther Illinois 12-1
That is a total of 8 in 14 full seasons, only THREE OF WHICH CAME IN THE LAST 8 YEARS!!

Kirk didn't take over a program that had won 19 games the previous two years before he got the ball.

Take KF's B1G record for 7 seasons (Bielema's tenure at Wisconsin) starting in 2002, to avoid any stench from the 1-10 and 3-9 seasons...Bielema's B1G record is still better.

Beilema is a better coach that Ferrets simply because of the fact he can manage a game clock. Period.

Zero road wins against non-conference BCS league opponents
One road game against non-conference BCS league opposition
Four total non-conference games against teams from BCS leagues (two v Oregon State, one vs Washington State, one vs Arizona State)
One game per year v FCS teams
Five total non-conference regular season wins against FBS teams who finished with a winning record (out of 21 total non-conference regular season games against FBS teams)
Seven games against FCS teams (one during each of his seven seasons as Wisconsin's head coach)

How many road wins does Ferentz have against BCS league opponents aside from Iowa St?

In the post by RenoHightower above, he mentions 3 road wins, only 1 against a team not named Iowa State: Syracuse 2006.

**Edit - I can't think of any more...we played Pittsburgh and 'Zona recently, but both of those road games we lost. ASU ended poorly several years ago...

I'll go with his numbers because I don't have capacity to look it up now! :)

Jon, by the time Bielema became HC at Wisconsin, KF had already won 2 BIG titles at Iowa.

I'm curious what Bielema's BIG record looks like since he arrived at Wisconsin. Team by team. I know it's impressive compared to Kirk's record during that same time span.
