Agreed we are 1-2 without CJ at QB. The OL sack stat is also a testament to CJ as he has quick release, feels pressure and can allude oncoming rushers

Actually he still needs to improve his awareness. He was almost killed on that blitz up the middle that led to the non-fumble fumble (and an uncalled helmet-on-helmet foul). It was a noticable problem last year also. But he is definitely elusive, and his awareness should improve with experience.

I would consider the o-line play a C+ or B- this year. That isn't great, but I was expecting a F going in, so I'm happy. Although I really think James Daniels is really playing above his head as a freshman getting reps. He could end up being scherff levels in a couple years.

Good point about Daniels. I can't remember the last time a TRUE freshman O Lineman has started at Iowa. Maybe never in the Ferentz era. I think Bulaga started perhaps as a RS Freshman?
