My question for you guys is this:

If Marble was the Senior and Gatens the Sophmore, would you all be voting For Roy instead?

No...Gatens brought home a win against a sweet 16 team while Roy isn't even a part of this...Devyn had one hell of a game though.

I'd have to rank Marble's performance right up there with Andre Woolridge's performance in the NCAA 2nd Round game vs Kentucky...Woolridge scored 29 of Iowa's 69 points(lost 75-69) on 9-18 shooting (3-8 from 3), (8-10 FTs) and he also had 4 Rebounds and 5 assists.

just to be that guy...devyn's first name is roy so he was actually correct.

Just to be that guy, he goes by Devyn...only a few family members and people who want to compare him to his dad call him Roy.

Edit: I know I'm being dickish about it, but I'm a "middle name goer byer" too, so I have "Devyn's" back on it...:p

John Johnson has the Iowa record for points scored in a game. Back in 1970 he scored 49 on 20-33 shooting and went 9-10 from the line. Couldn't find the rest of his stats from that game but I'm pretty sure the scoring alone qualifies as a better game than any games from this season.

Who had the better night....

Gatens Versus Wisky
12-18 FG, 7-10 3PFG, 3 Reb, 2 Ast, 0 TO, 33pts

Marble Versus Oregon
10-15 FG, 7-8 3PFG, 5 Reb, 5 Ast, 0 TO, 31pts

As I look at it, I'm going to say Marble had the greatest night in the history of Iowa basketball.... ever. That line is ******* insane.

You failed to recognize the most important aspect of the comparison ... Gaten's performance was again a team that actually plays defense!

Nice find. Seems like you're proving the addage that "history begins the day I was born."

Gatens' stats are better than Marble's for all the given reasons.
Marble is going to be fun to watch the next two seasons.

Gatens--We didn't score 90+ against Wisky. He had a far greater percentage of the team's total production.

Marble's performance was amazing, but Oregon didn't play a lick of defense. Wisconsin was in Gatens' face the whole day and he still whipped them.

Very true.

Everything about Gatens performance against Wisconsin was more impressive.

Degree of difficulty of shots were totally different, Marbles first 3 or 4 threes were wide open.

I wish Gatens would have did that against Oregon. What a bad game he had, both offensively & defensively.

I have to choose Roy's game vs The Ducks over Gatens vs Wisky. Marble's defense was great. I keep thinking of Gatens' defense against that chic from Oregon. He got burned alive.

I would even take this line over Marble's from the other night-

32 Points, 4 Reb, 4 Assists, 3 Steals, 10/15 FG, 5-6 FT and 7/10 3 PT FG

Guess who had this line. It was a Hawkeye and it happened in the last 10 years.

It was Jeff Horner's line from the 2005-2006 season at Purdue. Actually the first game he played without the knee brace after injuring his knee against UNI.
