Better luck with this Jake?

Two important points to keep in mind with this kid...he's the starting QB at one of the most prominent football schools in the country...in and of itself that fact helps a program that is looking to make inroads in high school football factories.

Secondly...this continues the trend of the Hawkeyes getting kids who seem to have a lot of talent and just as importantly seem to be intelligent kids. 4.3 GPA...that is also a promising sign.

I agree, the coaches are really starting to spread the wings, so to speak. They got this guy from St. Thomas and then one of the receivers is from another prolific school in Texas (Can't recall which school). I think one of this year's running back recruits is also from St. Thomas?
I think these are big moves that should not be underestimated. If you are able to lure in some of the lesser "rated" players from these high schools and do them right, you are certainly going to open doors to some of the big time recruits at these schools in the coming years.

Those are college throws, as a high school junior.

And he's operating equally well out of different-step drops, shotgun, sprint, these guys run a full playbook and Jake handles it all fluidly. And leads his receivers beautifully.

Wow.
