Gus loved calling Iowa hoops when Mel Basabe was playing; Mel's last name rolled off Gus's tongue like butter. My favorite was after a spectacular play under the bucket Gus remarked "Basabe - SPICY!"

Says who? By the way, when I saw that this bowl was on FS1 (one of the few), that was one of my first thoughts - no Beth Mowins.

Im not too impressed with Gus either. To me it seems like he doesn't really know the game or does his homework as well as some others out there. For my money one of the better guys is Chris Spielman. He calls a spade a spade and doesn't play much of the homer stuff or butt kissing associated with so many of the game callers
