I see some threads asking for ratings or nostalgic views of past teams, best bowl games and trips, etc. I am asking for your best big time hustle plays. A play made in a big game or a big moment that turned a game that really led to a hawk victory, season effort, etc.
My choice is in the 2009 Indiana game at Kinnick. My best recollection is that Indiana was up 21-7 in the 3rd qtr. Stanzi threw his 4th pick and the hoosier d-back or linebacker was running toward the SW endzone pylon for a pick 6 to make it 27-7 pending pat. But FB Brett Morse I am almost positive, ran the guy down and body block tackled him out at the 3 or 4 yard line. Morse was the last chance and he flew there to make the tackle.
Next thing, one or two plays later, Sash catches the ping-pong richochete pass and runs 95 yds the other direction for the 14 point swing. And the hawks never looked back.
What is your best hustle play memory?
