Bengals a squirrel looking for McNutt in Draft

It's not that critical of a need. We basically didn't have Ward last year. I love Ward. He is the epitome of a Steelers player, but we essentially played without him last year. We've also brought in a small corps of WR this off season already as developmental prospects.

I would take McNutt if it worked out, but WR simply isn't a priority need it Pittsburgh.

Will see......Cotchery needs to be re-signed, Sanders needs to stay healthy and Wallace/Brown could be gone after next year I doubt that both will be, but keeping both guys at big money won't be easy.

I agree that WR isn't their biggest need right now, but if you're going away from the old ground and pound Steelers offense of the past, you better have receivers to throw to. I do agree that D and also OL are more pressing needs, but if they take McNutt with a 4th Rd pick (or later) I'm not going to be upset in the least.

I agree with the point. However, one of the key reasons why Arians was let go this year was because they want to get back to Steelers football, which I am on board with. Ben can't play the way he has been for the remainder of his contract. He's going to have to get smart enough to adapt and this is the best way to protect Ben.

Besides, as I said, the WR corps in Pittsburgh isn't hampered. And honestly McNutt isn't a Ward replacement. He's almost the antithesis of Ward in terms of his skill set.

I would take McNutt in a heartbeat, don't get me wrong. But I wouldn't want to give up the draft pick to get him this year with the other more pressing needs. That's the crux of the issue. WR is way down the priority list for Pittsburgh.

Fair enough, hogeye...point taken.

I agree keeping them both won't be easy, but we weren't going to keep Burress or Holmes, either. Both of which were huge game changers. Yet, somehow the front office finds a way to keep restocking. We're arguably the best drafting, player development team in the NFL. We don't overpay for talent and yet we typically produce results on the field. Hard to argue with the Steelers personnel decisions.

Speaking as a Redskins fan during the Snyder Era.....yeah you're probably right.

I feel for you, really I do. My team has excellent ownership and that makes all the difference. Snyder isn't the worst out there though. There is still the Raiders and Al Davis. I know they said he died, but I'll believe it when their front office moves start reflecting it.

Agreed.

Wallace led the SEC in ypc his senior year and there he was sitting in the 3rd round waiting for the steelers to pluck him. Brown was a 6th rd. pick Steelers stumbled upon him scouting someone else. So in other words, yeah, they would probably find someone else. You start getting attached to certain guys and poof they are gone.

I guess we will find out Monday if Wallace will be there long term or not.
