Beau Corrales

Greene, Daniels, Wadley were all either 2* or 3* kids. It doesn't take a 4* RB to be a good RB, Iowa will be just fine at RB with or without Eno.

Beau was a 2* kid when we offered and most were like "he will be a TE at Iowa". He isn't a difference maker like Holmes would be.

5 years ago I would have agreed with this. But we watched a fullback run the ball for 3 years so I'm not so sure anymore. Also Wadley reminded me of the difference between a really good back and a serviceable one.

Wadley is as close to a Barry Sanders style of back I can remember seeing in a long time. In fact I'm hard pressed to think of another one atm. To have the ability and vision to do the stopping, starting and cutting that he does is amazing. Again to harp on his size if he'd have had 15 more lbs when he first got to Iowa he'd be a superstar in the NFL already... Sure he put the ball on the ground a few too many times early on but he wasn't given a ton of chances to redeem himself either. They always put someone else back in over him.

Once upon a time there was a Hawkeye with maturity issues who got in trouble twice as a college freshman. KF forgave him and he went on to bigger and better things, including a super-bowl ring.

For Gods sake this is a high school kid, and we can't forgive his immaturity?? For if we can't forgive a high schooler aren't we saying teachers aren't doing their jobs? And if we say that, aren't we blaming the entire K-12 system? And if we do that, aren't we indicting our educational institutions in general?!? I put it to you Blackngreg, isn't this an indictment of our entire American society?? Well, you can do what you want to Beau Corrales, but I'm not gonna sit here, and listen to you, bad-mouth, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!

Gentlemen!

This makes my day. Beau is more than welcome at Animal House and Iowa

247 has his recruiters from Iowa listed as Bobby Kennedy, and Greg Davis, so I would say there's not much of a chance of him coming back into the fold.

Wadley is the best or second best back of the Ferentz era and he was second string to a back that probably falls somewhere between 10th and 15th. Not that I needed another example of how bad Kirk evaluates talent, but it's a good example.

Tavian Banks spent 3 years behind Shaw. Granted, Shaw was a better back than L. Daniels, but it's certainly not unprecedented at Iowa to have a better back sitting 2nd string behind a lesser back....

Wasn't Sanders behind Thurman Thomas for awhile too? So yeah it can just work out that way sometimes. At least with Daniels it's the case of thunder/lighting and it's a style preference. Situational carries where Daniels got a lot of the short yardage/goal line touches. It wasn't 100% of the time but way more often the not. I wasn't totally against the distribution of the touches this year honestly. Both would have done even better if the passing game would have held up their end of the bargain..

The better player sits behind a lesser player all the time in sports. That's why it's so weird how defensive some people get on here when personnel choices get questioned. That said, Kirk seems to make bad choices more than most coaches. Maybe that's just because I pay more attention to Iowa tho.

To be honest was Tavian that much better than Shaw? Looking back at some of the tape there is a reason why Shaw is the all-time leading rusher. Tavian was great no doubt about it but as a TOTAL BACK I would have a tough time believing Tavian was head and shoulders above Shaw.

I don't think he was that much better. I think he was a little better, and only top of the line coaches can make the decision to play a slightly more talented player over the more experienced one. In Kirk's case, he can't seem to make the decision until it's so blatantly obvious that an entire fan base is screaming for it.
