Really? You want to give BC 'bulletin board material' to get them fired up against Iowa; maybe one team will be fired up)?
I don't need to log on to their message board to know that Boston College is filled with elitist pricks whose parents used to run the country but they don't any more and they can't handle it and they think theyre so smart because the movie Good Will Hunting was filmed in the same town and they think there so much better than us because they are so urban in their big city Boston and the Red Sox are so great but nobody outside of Boston likes them.

interesting that an east coast fan base doesn't understand why they are not, perhaps, an extremely desirable opponent for a school not on the east coast. because, well, the east coast is the only thing that matters in this country.

I don't think the people at BC are that bad. Some of them and some of their cohorts at BU have a massive chip on their shoulders that they didn't get into Harvard. I actually pity them because they live in an elitist bubble as non-elites and they have no idea how great places like Iowa City, Madison, East Lansing, etc. and many of the big schools in the southeast are.
One of my good friends from law school was from Wisconsin - kid was a huge Badger fan and he got transferred from Chicago to Boston for work. I saw him like a year after he got transferred. After exchanging salutations, I asked him how Boston was and he began a long rant that was set off by him being invited to a tailgate at Boston College. Apparently, the guy's mom next day aired him a styro cooler full of Sheboygans and dry ice and the guy rolls down to the tailgate with a 30 rack and cooler full of Sheboygans. Gets there and the parking situation is virtually all street parking and the grill was one of those little rectangular like 12 by 8 things with the mini tanks. The Sheboygans were evidently a hit, though, as anyone who has visited the east coast knows how hard it is to find a decent brat out there. So instead of spewing hatred at them, show them pity, and be thankful that our ancestors moved far, far away from the WASPs and the Irish who initially populated the northeast.

I see plenty of people can't get beyond the Red State, Blue State crap long enough for a damn football game. I get enough of that other places.

I think most fans look for the warm weather venue for a bowl that possibility is a crap shoot even in FL this time of year. I am sure both teams and fan bases thought their teams could have should have been 8nor 9 game winners. both teams only have a couple good wins. Hawks play just a bit better in 3 halves and they are 10-2. the coaches need to coach that "execution" and game plan plays that win. period
New Englanders are just a different type of folk... There's no way I'd take anything that they have to say seriously. They should be frustrated and not fired up for this bowl too. If they are then that just says where they are as a fan base/program. If they want to make fun of us for not wanting to spend an arm and a leg to travel to that crazy city in the winter time for a bowl game in a baseball stadium that's as meaningless as it is then have at it.

They had a decent run in the 00's right around when Iowa was up. They fell harder than Iowa after that, and spent a few years in the basement. They have been above .500 the last couple years.
Over the decades they have generally been an above .500 team. Their record is more inconsistent than Iowa's. They have 14 losing season from 1981 onward were as Iowa has 7 losing seasons in that span.

Right. Weren't they as mediocre as all get out when they had Matt Ryan? I remember him throwing a boat load of interceptions and being hyped up as the top pick he ended up being and wondering what it was I wasn't seeing about him. Turns out he was as good as advertised and has had a heck of a career so far but he sure didn't do anything to elevate their program.
Indeed. Their site is probably populated by a handful of know-it-alls living off pensions or disability payments from government jobs. Pretty much like this site.
