Battle 4 Atlantis - TV Coverage

Was confused because Seth Davis tweeted last night that he is calling the games for AXIS Channel. Of course I have 500+ channels on Dish and 159 is the one I don't have if indeed on NBC Network. I have to upgrade for the weekend then cancel plus pay a $5 fee for cancelling in less than 30 days if I cancel. Why is this tournament not on one of the ESPN channels or something? Frustrating

Looks like the entire tournament is on NBCSP. The Saturday games will be on NBCSP. The third place game is on at 6 PM and the championship game, Iowa vs. Kansas is on at 8:30.....

Agreed. It would be really annoying from a viewer's standpoint if the football and basketball teams were playing at the same time on Friday.

Totally. I'd have to record the BB game, avoid HN and twitter so I don't get any updates. That way I could watch the BB after the football game finished up.

I have the same problem. Is that the only way to watch the game? Originally NBCSN was on 161, but FOX Sports 1 now occupies that channel. I just want to watch some Hawk basketball!

Sick and tired of trying to figure out how to watch the Hawks each week. Never thought I'd miss Mac and Larry calling the games on the same channel every week! Thought with Kansas in this tourney that ESPN would pick up some of the games at least.

Iowa needs to win Thursday to get up a great sports watching day on Friday.

Seems like there was a year, maybe in the late 90s that we won a Bowl game during the day and then won AT Indiana in bball that night. That was a great day of Hawkeye Sports

It is frustrating, but I'd rather search and watch a game in glorious HD, than being forced back to the stone ages, and watching TV on a 4x3 picture tube any day of the week.

1997. Iowa lost to Arizona State in the Sun Bowl and won at Indiana in basketball. Because the tipoff of the basketball game was just 90 minutes after the kickoff of the football game, a lot of Hawkeye fans had to choose which to watch (pre-DVR days).

Some reason I was thinking we won the bowl game. Oh well, my memory fails me again. It is a good question though... what is the best single day of Hawkeye Sports ever?

Not exactly a "day" but the best weekend ever may have been March 14-16, 1980. The Hawkeyes won their fifth wrestling title in 6 years on the 15th, and beat Syracuse and Georgetown to go to the Final Four on the 14th and 16th.

Same here. I like that they have all these HD channels out there anymore but you have to pay a fortune in order to get them all. Anywho I did some digging and the game might be available online. I'm going to keep an eye on here: NBC Sports

If you truly love sports, DirecTv is the only way to go. It is a little bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Hate switching but may have to look into it someday. Main reason I went with Dish several years ago is because the Comcast station that shows all the Cubs and Bulls games came with their standard top 200 package. Mediacom and Direct didn't. Cubs games are about the only thing I watch in the summer if I have time to actually watch TV so I figured if I'm paying that much a month I might as well get the one thing I watch.
