I'm tired of Kirk Ferentz-coached Iowa teams underperforming and him standing by the cast-off of an offensive coordinator he hired a few years ago. I'm sick of Gary Barta rewarding this sh1tfest with rich extensions every other year.

Football will be more successful than basketball this year but the nice thing is expectations are completely opposite. Plus it's not a boring style of play. So much more fun and refreshing that way

I'm actually really excited about basketball. These types of seasons are the most fun. Young team with some talent and low expectations. Kinda season where you can just enjoy the ride.

We'll make a bowl game at least in football, I really don't think we'll make the NCAA Tournament in basketball. It'll have a totally different feel though because of expectations and it will be a very nice change of pace

didn't say that was a bad thing with a crap ton of new starters. You're prepared for this type of year. with football and the guys Iowa had returning and the pass/fail bar was firmly set at 8-4 for me.

Since this is the football side of the forums I felt the desire to point out something you stated above with a KF twist. This quote would fit quit nicely sitting on KF's desk.

Last night, I looked at the basketball schedule.
It's not losing to Wisconsin. It's losing to NDSU and Northwestern, prior.
If Iowa was 7-0 going into Wisconsin, that's different, give this season's expectations.
Sorry folks, this season is 2010 2.0, and, maybe 2020, will give us another great season, but until then, it will be frustration and after that contract extension, it may get ugly if we finish 6-6 or worse.

Iowa basketball under Fran....what a joke. It's a guarantee that come March they will be a shell of the team they seemed to be in January....

Between Iowa football and basketball....it's a heck of a time to be a hawk fan...
