This is the real issue. Most people just don't know it.
Iowa has a trifecta of doom...A University prez that hates athletics and really would prefer if they didn't exist(she said so), an AD that shouldn't be an AD & a head coach that answers to no one.

That recipe generally equals pretty bad athletic programs. Oh, look, Iowa won ZERO conference titles in ALL sports. The ONLY B1G program to do so. But I'm sure its just coincidence.

One of the more often discussed topics is about the differences between the SEC & B1G and why the SEC won the war. One of the big reasons, rarely mentioned, is those Universities commitment to their athletics programs. The SEC schools are far more committed to athletics. Right, wrong or indifferent, that's one of the big reasons why the SEC won the war and the B1G is the equal to the MAC, with a fatter paycheck. Iowa is at the worst end of that spectrum & it shows & it will get worse under this administration.

i would like to see the posters in this thread go visit with the all the coaches on campus and ask them if they appreciate gary's work at iowa.

i would also like to see a list of reasonable candidates to replace him since, you know, everyone wants to work at iowa as shown by the last list of AD candidates.

I will do it for half the money. Now you may say I am not a reasonable candidate, but I think considering first time and new nfl HC's are making around 2-3 mill a year, I would say Iowa offering 2 with a incentive plan to make 3, should be in order. No contract shall be longer then 5 years (one recruiting cycle). Reasonable?
