Maybe be prepared and quit stumbling with his words. Maybe Phil Haddy shouldn't have announced that Lick was fired before Barta even gets a chance to speak. Maybe tell us he has a plan. I would not be shocked if the new hire was an assistant at all...we've given the mid-major head coaches their chance to step up when it was fashionable to do so and they failed. Plus it should be easier to poach a top assistant than to poach a head coach from a bcs program...

That must have been after KCCI dropped the feed. Well, at least he's not ruling it out by that comment.

Barta said that he looking for someone with head-coaching experience but then went on to say it wasn't an absolute requirement and he didn't want to limit his search.

He said he has been watching several coaches for years and it just makes one think that he does have a couple of guys in mind.
