They are getting a ton of attention for their win over #2 Indiana and they deserve it. In fact, I hope they get more.
I want them rolling into CHA all full of themselves. They are ripe for a beatin' and the atmosphere at Carver will be perfect for it.
BTW:Where can I buy a "U mad Bo?" shirt with Uthoff's picture on it?
 
To be honest this is a must win game. Have to protect home court and Wisky, even with their win, are not a top 3 big ten team. Iowa needs this win if they want to stay in the post season disscusion.

Anyone think that this is not a must win?
 
Michigan State was claimed to be a must win. We lost that so the season is over I guess.

I'll say that losing to Wisconsin makes the road to the tournament tougher but by no means is it a must win.

It'd be damn hard to make it without it. But I don't think Iowa has a postseason resume for the NCAA tournament even if you do win. Wisconsin would be your signature win and we aren't a Top 25 team. The game is also @Carver.

I think Iowa needs to go 10-8.
 
It's not must win, but we must win the games we are supposed to (NW, PSU, Nebby, Purdue) and then a few that we aren't supposed win are must wins.
So the games against Minny, Wisky, Illinois, and OSU. There are two or three must wins in there, but I don't care which ones we win, but if we go 0 fer in those the season will end in theNIT.

That's because we'd only have 2 B10 wins and 13 wins, pretty hard to have an NCAA tournament resume less than a 1/3 of the way through conference play.

Beating Northwestern, Purdue, Nebraska and Penn State every game is not going to get you in the tourney, at some point, you have to beat some teams in the top half of the league. Especially with only 1 win outside of the league that would be classified as resume builder.

If you miss the opportunity Saturday, you are right it gets much tougher.. After Saturday you have 6 more chances to beat someone in the upper half 2 of those at home and 4 on the road.

MW means must win. there are 7 must wins. That gets Iowa to 8 B10 wins.

Then of the remaining 8 games Iowa must win 2. If they can win 2 of them that is 10-8 in the B10 and they dance easily. That gives them 2 quality wins. Now if they only win 1 but it is OSU or Indiana, then that is only 9-9 but 1 huge win and a maybe.

This next game is not a must win, but they need to get 2 out of the toughest 8 to have a shot at the NCAA. The 7 that I indicated are must wins. You lose those and it just increases the number of "tougher" games that you must win.
 
I think they can theoretically afford a slipup in one of those "must-wins". They'd just have to cancel it out with a fantastic win.

If Iowa loses at Purdue or something like that, and beats Minnesota at home and finishes with an appropriate record, they'll dance.
 
Of course, I don't really think Purdue is THAT bad. They can defend and rebound, so they'll beat some more teams.

Exactly. If we have real aspirations for an NCAA bid, this is a must win.
 
I really think every game at this point is a "need to win" not a "must win" game at this point. With that said I have a bad feeling about Saturday. I hope Im wrong. Go Hawks!
