If you go through the records of the teams slated to be in the west they had a 6 and 14 record against the east. You might be saying that bad? A big part of the reason is Purdue and Illinois, which were 8 of the 14 losses to the east. Nebraska and Minnesota had 4 of the 6 wins and Iowa and Wisconsin had one each. MSU and OSU owned 8 wins against the new West.
It does feel like the West will be the weaker division, especially with Purdue and Illinois moving into the west. At least Wisconsin moving west helps bring some equity. The future cross division games will play a big part in who wins the west.
