Pretty big drop off?
Michigan got smoked by Iowa, and lost to Indiana.
MSU had losses to OSU, Illinois, and Nebraska.
Wisconsin had losses to Northwestern, OSU, Minnesota, and Indiana.
Now those three teams are proving right now that they are certainly the best in the B10, and I fully understand good teams lose games that they shouldn't. However, I think it's pure BS for you to suggest there is this big drop off. Especially this year. B10 teams were beating eachother left and right. The league was as wide open as it's been in years in my opinion.
I grew up in a family mostly dominated by ISU fans. While the B10 was beating up on each other all I heard was "God the B10 is terrible. Wisconsin lost to Northwestern. MSU lost to Nebraska. What a freakin joke!". The funny thing is I stood by while all of them were saying the B12 is the best conference, and I said "Let's wait and see which conference sends the most teams the furthest in the big dance before we get too carried away with things. That's the ultimate factor when deciding which conference is the best". And look where we're at now...
If Iowa State beats UConn, which I think they are capable of if they keep shooting lights out, then they will not beat MSU. They probably could have made it a good game with Niang, but without him there's no way they have what it takes.
