B1G represented

It never ceases to amaze me how some fans think it matters if they keep this attitude or not.

The TEAM and COACHES should want nothing to do with moral victories. As fans, finding reasons to be positive after a loss is practically part of the job description.

Exactly!!!!

This is an excellent point.

"Never as good as people think, never as bad as people fear"

If "playing close" and "not getting embarrassed" equates to "representing well", then yes, the league did.

If "winning" equates to "representing well", then no, the league did not.

I think the wisky/stanford and scUM/SC games were the two most entertaining.

If by entertaining you mean teams with glaring weaknesses that should have been playing down at least one level on the bowl game slate.

Wisky was really about an Outback level team. UM would have made a good BWW or Gator Participant.

Moral victories are for losers. Can't wait for Urban to get bowl eligible. The rest of the conference is pathetic.

I don't think Michigan is pathetic. They're still on a big upswing, IMHO. South Carolina isn't a dog crap team. In the next two years, I think Michigan will be very, very tough to beat. Of course, tOSU will be the team to beat, but your statement is a bit funny.

We seem to be the dogs almost all the time. There are a few ways to look at it, is a #16 B10 team the same as a #8 sec team? That would imply the rating system is very flawed.
Is it that the B10 does not get enough credit for being a tough conf and that is what skews the ratings?
Is it the B10 plays up to who they are playing?
Is it that there is not much of a difference between an unranked B10 team and a #6 ranked team? I know how they got there, but a #6 should win by 40 over a unranked, right??

I think the bowls know when they select that a low to mid teens ranked B10 team can hang with a 6 to 10 ranked team and make it a good game. We have done it many many times. Now could that be turned around and a mid teens sec team do well against a 6 or so ranked B10 team? I guess we wont know, same as we will not know how they would do playing a late Nov game up north.

Well Jim Delaney and the B1G can thank THE Cheater State University and The Penn State Cover-ups for that!

But in most other years the B1G is getting 2 teams into the BCS anyway, so you are always going to have B1G teams playing a step higher than they should be in bowl games. Every year we use the same damn excuse the SEC, B12, and Pac14 usually have the same problem but they always seem to get decent post season results. The B1G needs to step up and win these damn games.

Problem is, it is true and the ranking system is a joke. So we give up 8 spots or so, almost every year and in several games, like our 16 playing an 8, right? So if we are ranked 8 should we not have a argument to be going against #1 for a NT?

No, basically it sounds like you want the B1G playing nothing but mid majors. To be the best you have to beat the best. They had there chances to win a number of these games, heck Minnesota gave theirs away.

I agree, but it is funny how the B10 is the one to give up the numbers. But I do agree you are either playing to be the best, or gtfo.
