How Big Ten bowl ticket sales are faring - Big Ten Blog - ESPN

Didnt read the blog, but most fans buy their tickets from third party vendors because for many bowls, the official tickets the Universities get are not as good as what you can get on the market, and in some instances the tickets on the open market are also cheaper.

After a disappointing season, the Hawks have sold more tickets to their lesser bowl than MSU has to their respectable bowl. Also, only 300 fewer (through the ticket office) than Ohio State is a pretty good showing.

Yeah you get better seats by going through a 3rd party. For some reason the tickets issued to the university by these bowls are not good seats. They force the uni's to sell the crappy seats.

The tickets via ticket office are awful compared to what you get on your own and more people are starting to figure this out.

It might cost you a few bucks more per ticket but if your traveling that far you might as well have decent seats!

No, actually you guys are 100% wrong. The tickets held by the U of I for the Insight Bowl are very good seats, near the center of the field. You need to check your facts!!!

Got mine through insight bowl website the night they announced it, luckily picked Iowa side got them between 40-50 yd line. Great seats through their website

MSU fans were also probably holding out hope for going to the Rose Bowl as well; there is bound to be a bit of a letdown factor involved there. Ohio State fans couldn't care less about their bowl game.

I think the University of Iowa is starting to figure it out too. I read a press release that basically said the University had much better seats this time around. Apparently the tickets through Iowa were not very good last December.

Not going to the Iowa game but to the NW game and the PSU game

NW=Free(won in a drawing at a bar)
PSU=Bought thru UH ticket office.

Bought our tickets from the Fiesta Bowl site. Tried to go through Iowa but all they had left was in the end zone or upper levels. We have never had good seats going this way and I've done it for every bowl game until now. I got 10 yard line in row 37 in section 4 (I think).

Congrats? I think.

Did they give you any other options? :D

You guys are looking at this all wrong I'd love to go to NWs bowl game so I could rub it in their faces when they lose AGAIN. You could start chanting 49! 49! 49! and then push a nerd to the ground.

The PSU bowl game? Well yeah, that's just sad.
