B1G Bowl Projections for 11/10

I don't know about y'all, but I'm liking the bowl that most promises some delicious pizza. So lets go down a notch and get our pepperoni on.

That bowl is being reserved for Northwestern if they can get to 6 wins. I would love to see a Northwestern verse Northern Illinois matchup.

The Texas Bowl is the most logical projection at this point. Iowa is not going to be favored in either of the next 2 games (perhaps Michigan) and it is unlikely the Big Ten gets 2 teams into the BCS. If Iowa was to beat Michigan then the projections would start climbing. It will be interesting to find out which bowl representatives will be at the game.

I would think Iowa will be favored at home against Michigan. I think they are 3 pt. dog to Northwestern this week. Lose to NW and they are probably a td dog at Iowa.

They play next season already, but I would like to see them get a full dose of Lynch before he is gone. NW is the only Big Ten team I do not root for in bowl season.

I guarantee we are favored against Michigan.

Sagarin predictor would currently make Iowa a 6.5 point favorite.

Vegas may have Iowa favored but these writers must not since all of them have Minnesota taken before Iowa. But none of them have Northwestern in the Pizza (one has ND) so perhaps they feel Michigan beats Northwestern and Minnesota draws better than Iowa.

Is there any way we could land Norte dame in a bowl? I've always wanted to see that matchup and I think we could nip them this year.

The Texas Bowl is the only chance and that would take Kansas State losing the rest of their games and West Virginia losing 1 more, highly unlikely.

Mandell's pics are interesting

Notre Dame - NIU - in detroit - probably a nice pairing for the Pizza people

Duke to the SunBowl - nice - this is not your Father's Duke

Nebraska - OU in Tempe - for old time's sake

and the hawkeyes against NTS - Hayden't old place, My Wife's alma mater and in Dallas - hey I might just go to that one!!

I had not noticed the Nebraska vs Oklahoma projection, that would make for one heck of a bowl. I agree on the Pizza Bowl, they would be in heaven with a Notre Dame vs Northern Illinois matchup. Fresno State is the only thing keeping NIU out of a BCS Bowl game and I think they would matchup well against Notre Dame. Depending on which Notre Dame team shows up, the one that beat MSU and ASU or the one that lost to Pitt and almost lost to Navy, NIU would have a shot at knocking them off.

But I wonder if Notre Dame would even accept that bowl bid.

Michigan won't win any beauty contests this year. They'll lose 2 of their final 3 games and the last one will be a very ugly loss to Ohio State who will mercilessly embarass them. There will be a lot of negative media attention around Michigan.

So those who claim they are the pretty girl in the class need to think again.

Thats because these writers look at the current standings and make their picks. Id doubt their picks are to in depth. Nobody is picking Minnesota before Iowa

Wait, so which is it? If they go by current standings, they pick Minnesota before Iowa. If they don't pick Minnesota before Iowa, they don't go by current standings.

They do not go by standings unless they pick a team ahead of another one that has a two win difference. Iowa winning 1 out of the last 2 pushes them over the Goofers. Minny is going to lose out IMO.

They are in depth enough to put Michigan in a better bowl than Minnesota. They can't be just looking at the standings.

And we all know who the coach for North Texas is, right? Dan McCarney!
