B1G/ACC Challenge matchups will be announced this afternoon.

I see only OSU, Wisky, and Purdue winning, as of now. I think the B1G's reign as the #1 conference will be short-lived, because with ND, Syracuse, and Pitt joining and UNC getting back to normal, the ACC will be tough to be from here on out.

Really?

Duke over MSU in East Lansing?

Iowa losing in CHA to Notre Dame?

Your domerism is showing.

I'm guessing the early game on ESPN or the late game on ESPN 2. The 3rd best match up of the night behind-

Cuse/IU
UM/Duke

Idk Hoffa, Iowa/ND could squeeze past Cuse/IU for 2nd best. It is a long shot but IU is going to be rebuilding and anything Notre Dame gets good ratings.

Living in South Bend with a spouse that goes to ND, I'm freakin' pumped for that one. Maybe moreso than any other non-con game.

I can see both games going to other way, but MSU usually struggles in early big time match ups. And I'm unaware of CHA being some type of magically place for the basketball team as of late.

You really should watch some Iowa basketball games before posting so you don't look so ridiculous. Iowa lost close games at home this season to Indiana and MSU. We will be even better. ND won't be as good as either Indiana or MSU of this season. Get a clue!

You're right, I don't watch a lot of Iowa basketball, but it's not exactly insane to think a team who's been better than Iowa, played in a better conference, and getting two top 100 recruits, can't beat them in Carver.

It's not insane to think they can't beat Iowa, I agree. But who is this team from a better conference? Such a team doesn't exist.

I believe you're right when it comes to the actual game, but 'Cuse/IU will have more national appeal to it.

Just my $.02 .. ..

GO HAWKS!!!

I think the Iowa vs. Notre Dame matchup will be a great game! Notre Dame is no slouch as they return 4 starters from a 25 win team last year. Iowa looks to be very strong as well returning almost all of their key players. With Coach McCaffrey's ties to the Notre Dame program I'm sure he will be very excited for this game. As will the players. At home I think Iowa will win this game but it will be close imo. As for the rest of the matchups I would say they favor the Acc slightly.

UNC at MSU - Toss up, as both teams are expected to have very good seasons next year. Probably depends on whether Valentine is officiating... J/K kinda UNC steals one at the Breslin Center

Wisconsin at Virginia - Another tough game to call, I would give the edge to Virginia at home in what will be dubbed the sherwin williams matchup, like watching paint dry. The over under line in that game will probably be at 85 points.

FSU at Minnesota - Minnesota loses a lot, and admittedly I don't know much about FSU at this point but I will still give the edge to the home squad in a close game.

Maryland at OSU - OSU is always stingy at home and Matta just finds ways to keep winning. I give the edge to OSU in this one.

Indiana at Syracuse - Indiana will be trying to find their identity early in the season and a game at Syracuse isn't the best place to try to get that accomplished. The best player in this game will be CJ Fair, and I think Syracuse will win this one handily.

Michigan at Duke - Michigan will have some good talent returning but they will have a tough time early on defining their roles without Hardaway and Burke to lean on. Duke is poised to have a big year returning most of their guards and adding Jabari Parker to the mix. Parker is a big time talent. Duke wins this one.

PSU at Pitt - This is my one real upset pick, I'm going with PSU. I think a healthy Tim Frazier to go along with the other guys they are returning will surprise a lot of folks. One of the best guard trios in the conference. This is not hardly a road game for them either as I expect PSU fans to show up for this one as well.

Illinois at Georgia Tech - Illinois next year is going to be a young squad but will have some talent. But early on I think they will struggle to find a true go to guy. Georgia Tech at home pulls this one out.

Northwestern at NC State - Going with the wolfpack. I think Northwestern will struggle the first year under Collins as he will not really have the players he needs to run the schemes he wants to.

Boston College at Purdue - I like Purdue in this game mainly for one reason and that is AJ Hammons. I think he is a legitimate B1G poy candidate.

Miami at Nebraska - Miami lost a lot from their great team last season, also I think Nebraska will be improved and I think Miles is a good coach who will do well with some pretty decent talent coming in next season. I'm giving Nebraska the nod in this one.

So all in all I've got it split 6-6 which is generally pretty close in this challenge event history. usually it goes 7-5 or 6-6 with very little seperation between the 2 conferences. Although with the ACC's additions I do think they will become the premier conference in the coming years with the B1G a close second and then all the rest after that. Should be some fun matchups to watch. Looking at the schedule just makes me wish it was Basketball season already!

Probable Big 10 winners - Iowa, MSU, Ohio State and Purdue

Probable ACC winners - Virginia, Syracuse, Duke and NC State

Could go either way (my picks) - Minnesota, PSU, GT and Miami

I think it goes 6-6.

C'mon this is like making a non-positive remark about Iowa football back in 2010. Its not allowed and it makes you a horrible fan!

Iowa BB is on the way up and since they made the NIT and only lose one rotation player. Next year, nobody will get hurt, zero grade issues, nobody will quit or get in trouble, and everyone will get better because that always happens. Look at all of the players on the current roster. Everyone of them has made leaps and bounds every season.

Insult the football team all you want now, but Iowa BB is back! Nevermind what happened when they played athletic teams like WSU, OSU, Michigan, and Baylor.

This is the one area where I think they will continue to struggle. I also think it is why Fran is trying to pick up an athletic PG in the '14 class. Right now Marble and Gesell aren't suited to match up against really athletic PG's, about the only guy physical and athletic enough is Clemmons.

Is it just me or does it seem that Duke always gets to play this matchup at home or on a neutral site? Didn't they play tOSU at Cameron last year?
