Look no further than 2017. Iowa lost yardage nearly every time they exchanged punts with their opponent. When you lost 3 extremely close games and another tight game, that is a huge factor.

1990 is another example. They had trouble getting punts off that season.

Its actually impressive that he was able to do that low trajectory rugby kick but somehow get it to stop on the first bounce and die right there. Sometimes he could even get to come back toward him. Truly the most unintentionally amazing kicking I've ever seen. Skilled punters who kick traditionally can't make the ball die in the middle of the field like he could.
