How about that for Karl...it's good to play next to Clayborn :)

I picked up a Lindy's on Friday am and they have Clayborn and Sash as 1st and 2nd Team AA respectively as well. They have Clayborn as the #1 DE in the nation and Karl Klug the #7 DT. They also rank Iowa's D-Line as the #1 overall unit in the nation.

There's a reason why Clayborn and Norm talk up Klug ... you keep the beast happy and he can make your life nice.

Three All Americans on defense. That's impressive.

Could we end up having four All Americans if another player emerges with a great year? If yes, who might that player be?

That player would be Ballard. He got better as the year went by and should be fully acclimated to his DT position now...he's going to be a beast.

I'm also looking forward to Ballard's play this year. I know he has beefed up and has a better body for DT than last year. Should be great!

It also is a totally different position than end. At end you need to keep your head up and read plays. At tackle you need to keep your pads down and play the leverage game.

At times at the beginning of the year last year, Ballard got caught playing too tall and he was knocked back off the line of scrimmage or stood up and stymied. As has been said, he got better as the year wore on. However, he should be a lot better this year.

Three preseason AA's seems about right. This defense will need to fill the LB holes, but will be very, very entertaining to watch this fall.
