At what point in your playing days did you start tuning coaches out?

Whatever level you played at, whatever sport you played, anyone that played sports growing up all the way up to the lucky ones to play/compete in college or beyond. At what point did you start tuning out the coaches in any given situation?

For me I know the main thing that made me tune out a coach was playing people that I (and/or the majority of the team) felt weren't giving the team the best chance to win and had proven they couldn't be trusted in certain situations. Nothing tore a team apart faster imo.

As much as we like to think this current ball team is a united unit behind their coach I guarantee there are factions and cliques, it's just how it is. Bottom line, if the coach keeps f'ing up, the team is going to implode.

That what's Wisc fans were saying a couple of weeks ago......
The sky was falling and Bo was over the hill....right.

Everyone still plays hard, still defends hard and rebounds hard. The bench is always very engaged in the game, those are the best ways to see if a team is still united and working hard. To say that this team is going to implode because they struggle against top 20 teams is just wishful thinking from a loser troll.

I don't think that's happening on this team at all. But the only time I tuned a coach out was during my eighth grade baseball season. The coach was a really nice guy, but an awful coach who preferred to just play fun games during practices. I wanted to actually work on getting better, so any time he started one of his games, I'd go off on my own and do tee work. He didn't like it, but I didn't care.

My high school sophmore basketball coach was the first time I ever tuned out a coach. The guy was a blatant moron. He taught freshman english, so he knew all the kids prior to coaching them. If you were an honors student you were treated differently than those in lower level classes.
He also rated players on his personal point system. In this system players were awarded points for all categories of stats. The defensive stats were scored much heavier than any offensive stat or rebounding and minutes were distributed by your place on the point scale. The starters could not score, the three leading scorers on the team never started. We did not win many games and he stayed in his position far too long. We were sub .500 as sophs and then went to state as jrs and srs in 4A, finishing 3rd as seniors. So we had some players, but this coach was an idiot. Still is and I still see him around and cant stand him.

Uncle Rico!

How much you want to make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains? Yeah. If coach would've put me in fourth quarter... we'd have been state champions, no doubt. No doubt in my mind. You better believe things would have been different. I'd have gone pro...in a heartbeat. I'd be makin' millions of dollars and... livin' in a... big ol' mansion somewhere. You know, soakin' it up in a hot tub with my soul mate. Kip, I reckon you know a lot about cyberspace. Y-You ever come across anything like time travel?

Only tuned them out if they were idiot goof balls and I didnt have many if any, but after playing soph bball until injury I couldnt make varsity team. But our varsity bball coach was a good guy.

We had some fball coaches who were idiots making players practice with pacifiers in their mouths after a loss.

I was blessed to play for some great coaches all the way through high school. I can honestly say i did not tuned one of them out all the way through. Did I always like what they did? Absolutely not, but always respected them through it all.

My college baseball coach was a different story. Super guy, high school knowledge with a JH coaching mindset. I was done with him my sophomore year. Unbelievably frustrating experience. I played every game over a 4 year span and started all but 2 so it wasnt a playing time thing.

I love it when clowns like you attempt to imply that you actually know something about how the players view Fran. You are indeed one of the biggest jokes on this message board...are you even aware of that? do you enjoy it?
