At This Point, Would Kirk Ferentz Make A Better AD Than Coach?

I've often wondered. He may have a better persona for an AD than a coach trying to recruit & relate with young men. I've always wondered if he could be a successful ad such as how Alvarez did it at Wisconsin.
 
I think if we had an AD who insisted on hiring a "Michigan Man" it would change the way things are done in Iowa City.
 
He won't even fire his coordinators. If Kirk was AD a few years ago then Lick would still be coaching the basketball team.
 
He would micro-manage those under him to death...and not just the ones that weren't family. That is why I never blamed KOK for the Offense....he was just game planning the way he was told. GD never should have been hired....he needs to be told to brush his teeth at nite....so I give KF a pass on him.
 
Yes, even easier then to continue his "family" business and hire Brian. In reality though we do know that his negotiating skills are top notch. I'm guessing he wouldn't beve been so quick to have given himself the kind of contract he has if he were I n the same position Bart's was. Hell he might tell Barta to just retire so that he can move right into the AD spot, that is how good he must be at making deals. I think if we looked far enough in KFs past he has ties to the mob cause he flat out extorted Iowa.
 
Based upon Kirks poor coaching hires this last go around I'd say no way. He is like the boss that just can't seem to fire a guy even if they repeatedly fail at their jobs. Clearly Kirks coaching tree is going to fall well short of Hayden's because he allows his subordinates to do their jobs at a level that is far below average yet retain them. Hell no should he be AD.
