At this point, 2 games that give me the most concern for the rest of this regular season

Yes, every game should get our attention, especially the players and coaches. But, Wisconsin is down. Northwestern is down. A top 5 team should handle a Minny, Illini, and PU.

I think it is Penn St and Nebraska. Penn St because they are probably the best all around team we have left. But, as I said in the Penn St/Indiana game thread, I'm not really concerned about this game as I think Iowa is the better team and they are going to be walking into likely one of the most wild crowds at Kinnick on record.

Nebraska I think is the interesting bug that is left on our schedule. I'm going to give it to them, I think they have improved. I still don't know if their improvement is going to make a big difference against Michigan, Ohio St, and Iowa in particular. We are going to find out more about Nebraska when they play Michigan. But, I think if it goes to script, they will lose to Michigan and Ohio St. I think they beat Purdue at home comfortably.

I think they will split the Minny and Wisconsin games. This will leave Nebraska with 5 wins coming into the Iowa game they have at home. So, they find themselves again in the position of needing to win that game to get a bowl lock.....and they get up for Iowa like the Clowns do now. They would love to spoil our season.

The good news is, we are the better team and they still have to go through their schedule.

But, if we get by Penn St and assuming we stay healthy and keep rolling.....I think Nebraska is the team to keep an eye on.

On the East side, I think Ohio St is re-emerging there, but we will see who is on the top between them, Michigan, Penn St, and Michigan St.

Wasn't Purdue the last team to score more than 25 against Iowa? Brohm knows how to attack the Iowa defense. Just checked the schedule I thought the game was at West Lafayette, but the game is at Kinnick so I am more confident now. Still a flukey loss is possible.

Penn State. Nebraska has too many flaws. Iowa is in firm control of the West. Everyone else will end up with two loses

Clifford isn't McSorley. He can't produce that type of magic. I think Iowa beats PSU in a close one. Purdue and Nebraska are the tricky ones. Brohm knows how to attack the Iowa defense and if Nebraska is playing for bowl eligibility at Lincoln, against a rated rival, that is a tough spot.

Iowa could lose against PSU and they would still be alone in first place in the West. In fact it’s highly likely Iowa wins the West even if they lose to both Nebraska and PSU. Iowa has a huge advantage since they’ve already won 2 crossover games.

If you’re talking CFP then, yeah, those are the 2 most concerning games remaining.

I think Iowa wins by a TD. But it will be a last second, harrowing affair.

Don’t overreact after last night, northwestern is really bad.

Yes, they looked absolutely horrible against Nebraska but if Iowa doesn't go into Evanston looking to stomp their ass then it still could be a trap game. Iowa has lost 4 of the last 5 games against Northwestern and every year Fitz has this game circled.

I agree that the 2 best teams Iowa has left on the schedule are PSU and Neb.

Wisc seems down this year. The defense is still there, but Wisc offense needs to figure it out, or they have no chance.

Minnesota is Jeckyll and Hyde this season, alternating good performance with surprisingly bad games. I just hope Iowa gets the team that lost to Bowling Green and not the team that beat Colorado 30-0

Purdue is always dangerous because Jeff Brahm seems to have a magic hex over Iowa.

Normally I would worry about NW but they look so bad this year it's just too much for NW to overcome.

ILL has been competitive in every Big Ten game this year but I doubt they have enough to beat Iowa this year.

And, yes I would say not to fear Nebraska.....but keep an eye on them. If they beat Michigan (big if) we may need to start worrying more. Most likely, Nebraska will be playing to be bowl eligible by the time they play us and they have played us close the last few times we have played them.
Iowa most likely wins, but it won't be a slam dunk.

First thing is first, we need to care of those Lions from the East.

Penn State is legit. Clifford isn't McSorley but he's still a gamer. I agree Iowa wins this one in a dogfight. Look at Penn State's big wins, Wisconsin in Madison. Indiana at home. Neither team has a defense even close to Iowa.

Nebraska has problems. Beating Northwestern isn't a bragging point this year. Nebraska will probably lose 3 more conference games this year. Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio State.
Minnesota, Purdue. Both home games for Iowa. Minnesota beat Purdue in West Lafayette. Wisconsin is down but they are still dangerous. Iowa plays them in Madison.

Nebraska, actually (31 - 28 Hawkeye victory in last reg season game of 2018).

Purdue did score 38 on us 3 games earlier.

What universe are you guys in...Nebraska is improved slightly from a fucking dumpster fire. Their coaches are glorified grad assistants and Scott has home problems.

MSU is way overrated, Oklahoma is overrated, and Northwestern is BAD. That said Northwestern moved the ball early, but they are BAD. Martinez will and does self destruct at some point in big games. No playmakers on the perimeter, just spy Martinez. Illinois and MSU wore out Nebraska's defense, little or no depth, and their special teams SUCK. No way Iowa stumbles if they are undefeated on Black Friday.

Nebraska will lose in Minneapolis, PJ has their number, they get Rick rolled by Michigan and OSU...beat Purdue, and Wisconsin's D is the real deal and they will lose in Madison...they go into Iowa 4-7 and will roll over if we hit them early.

Just saw the line for this weekend's game Michigan vs. Nebraska game. Michigan is favored by 3 points. Nebraska is getting some respect.
