Hahaha. Nice. DJK is totally correct that nothing will change. As long as the money keeps rolling in, the administration couldn't give two shits about actually winning.

Yeah, no doubt. We have an o-coordinator who lived in Section 8 housing while his old man made millions. The strength coach damned near killed some kids and did permanently end a few careers. The head man has put up a number of head scratching performances and has lucked into a conference realignment that has left him with one of the softest schedules in the country year in and year but still can't consistently win 9 regular season games.

And that's just on the football side. Basketball is destroyed. Utterly destroyed. And the non-revenue sports are hot garbage. It is clear that the University cares about one thing, and one thing only. Money. And even that isn't totally clear. They lost a fairly large (by Iowa standards) high profile discrimination suit and it was kinda like "Well, that's court."

Sums it up pretty well.

Why the hell do you even come on here or pay attention??? Seriously. You are one of those people that is simply a damn complainer about everything.

Baseball is coming around nicely.

It remains to be seen, though, if Barta fucks it up somehow.

Rick Heller wanted a shorter fence to help recruit power hitters, but got denied by Jane Meyer. Barta could have easily overruled that Amazonian bush woman but didn’t.

If Heller goes, I’ll agree with you on the NR sports being hot garbage.

One last thing...Hawkeye baseball $75 season tickets are the best value sports ticket in Iowa by ten miles. Even when the football team goes 12-2.

Barta probably thought that moving fences in would increase dented cars and smashed windshields on Hawkins Drive, forgetting that the street wouldn't be any closer.

At least he's not an ostrich. Where was he wrong?

Ok we arent MN. We beat them. No one got raped in the training room. We arent Rutgers. No one has died. KF waves at kids rather thzn sllow abuse. The OC isnt a son named Paterno. We beat ISU. We havent been called out by broadcasters this year for allowing our immobile qb to get smashed. We are so good at TE that the all american cant get on the field. We give punters a chance after a mistake even if he has a rich uncle.

Now I feel better. We might even help Lovie Smith feel better.

Attended Iowa baseball games for the first time last season. Ended up going to 4 of them. The facilities need a serious upgrade. There is seriously one restroom for men and one for women and about 3 people can be in there at one time. I don't know why they don't do it, maybe it is money, but minor league ball has the in between inning stuff and contests, etc that go on during game. Would help to add in some extra stuff like that.

This is all the dude ever spews. Professional complainer. We all know people exactly like this.

You must have spent a lot of quality time with your kids, huh. Can't go kids they use aluminum bats!

Pal, I lived in Japan not even 100 yards from a large gravel playground that was the defacto baseball field for the top middle school kids in a town of 620,000 people crammed into an area slightly larger than Iowa City. They started playing at around 5 AM everyday in summer. In the fall and winter they started around 6 AM. Every. Fucking. Day. All day on Saturday. All day on Sunday. Every. Fucking. Week.

I was there last month. Sunrise was around 5:30. By 6 they were taking BP. Everyday.

I have grown to truly hate the sound of aluminum baseball bats.

Living that close to the park you probably would have gotten sick of the sound of wooden bats over time as well.

I see businesses in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin that can't be more than fifty yards from the busy BNSF railroad tracks.

I once asked a customer how he dealt with it. A train promptly roared by and I couldn't hear a word he was saying.

Yeah, you're probably right, but I probably would have been able to sleep through wooden bats. My window pretty much faced the field. In a very Japanese thing to do, the coaches always make the kids sweep the neighborhood and pick up all trash on the streets every morning, so there isn't so much as a leaf or blade of grass in the street in the neighborhood. One group will take BP and another group has to clean and then they switch. Once the games get going it isn't as bad, but that piercing aluminum bat sound before 6 AM gets real old. I probably won't mind the sound if my boy plays, but if he inherited my astigmatism, he ain't gonna be able to play once they get past coach pitch.
