Article on Pat Angerer play last night

You know I didn't get to see most of the game. Just saw the last couple of series and by the way Collinsworth was talking I expected that Pat had kind of a nightmare game. Glad to see that was not the case.

Also Collinsworth is a D-bag.

"I'm only a rookie and I don't know a lot, but what I do know is any time you get a win in this league, it's a good thing."

Miss his quotes this season.

Collinsworth is probably the best color guy in the game today. He wasn't overly critical of Angerer. He did get fooled on the draw play the Redskins ran late in the 4th, and saying the Redskins were going to look to go at him was just what any NFL team would do playing against a team with a rookie LB. Also, he did compliment him for his pass coverage on their RB at the end of the game.

Actually, no he didn't. He said the back made it too easy for Angerer to cover. Didn't give Pat any credit. Basically, said it was the back's fault.

Also, did you catch the comment about the play to the back that went for the touchdown. He said, someone made a mistake, "It might have been Angerer." This was stated with absolutely no evidence. Pat covered a guy over the middle and another backer flashed late to the guy coming out of the backfield.

Watched a lot of the game.....He played like a rook, did some good things, made some mistakes. He made all the calls and got everyone lined up correctly, which is a good sign, really good sign. He may be able to push Brackett for the starting job in a couple of years.

He said Angerer made the play easily, the back did run a poor route, not sure how much praise you want him to give Angerer for making a play most NFL LBs make. Collinsworth is one of the best at breaking down plays in real time, and he obviously does his homework on the teams before the games, and if he said "might have been Angerer" what's wrong with that statement? He didn't say it was certainly Angerer's fault.

Collinsworth was just doing his job. Angerer played OK but not great. On some of the running plays he took bad pursuit angles. And it seemed that McNabb found a lot of wide open receivers in Angerer's area of responsibility.
