From what has been written about Van Lith, apparently she made it clear in her announcement she didn't want anyone to contact her, so it sounds like she already knew where she wanted to go at the time she entered the portal. Gut feeling is that she and Clark are too similar in their skill sets for her to strongly consider Iowa as her landing place. Van Lith seems to be too unlikely to be willing to share the ball that much. Other top level schools who direly need a point guard would seem to be more attractive to her. (NOT saying she and Clark wouldn't be a dynamic duo!)
Leistikow wrote a day or two ago that Betts doesn't appear to be Iowa-bound. An article written when she announced she was leaving The Tree said she considered Notre Dame, S. Carolina, U Conn, Baylor, UCLA, Oregon & Louisville before committing to Stanford. Those first three are always national contenders, and there was just a big announcement that The Fainting Irish and Gamecocks are going to play the first ever college basketball game in Paris this coming Nov. Don't know how important that plum will be to Ms. Betts, but it is a perk that the Hawks cannot offer. S. Carolina just had their post player be the #1 pick in the WNBA draft, so in spite of Jan Jensen being the "Post Whisperer", that might also weigh heavily on her mind.
As far as the question posed in this topic--that being choosing between the two, Betts gets my vote. At 6'7" and the #1 recruit in the nation last year, Betts is 4 inches taller than Czinano, who is the player the Hawks most need to replace. If Betts is still undecided, hopefully the lure of being fed by the best point guard in the country and the reported recent surge in NIL funds available specifically for women's hoops will sway her our way!
