ARob Status?

Does anybody know when the status of Robinson is going to be made public? Ferentz next presser would more than likely be on signing day. Will the university just release a statement when a decision has been made?

Not sure when anything will be announced, but I would be shocked if he is back.

If I had to guess I would say that he will be suspended for the first 3-5 games next year (behind closed doors) and then he decides to transfer. He's only a Soph so he will still have eligibility left at another school.

I would guess this, but I would hope he would grow up enough between now and then to earn his way back into the fold.

If I had to guess I'd say we'll never see him in black and old gold again. There's just too much working against him. A talented backup who broke a record in the bowl game (has ARob ever broken 200 yards in a game?), a pair of really talented kids coming in this recruiting class, a RS freshman that a lot of people are excited about, plus the recent drama with drugs on the team anyway. It's like he was put on probation by KF and within a couple weeks gave him all the reason he needs to cut ties with him once and for all.

was he going to be back anyway - aside from the latest mary charge? i thought he was already gone. anecdotal reports of him not going to class, Ferentz saying he was out due to academics (bowl game). i don't see it.

It's really too bad. I want all Hawks to succeed but when it comes to one of our own Iowa, I really like them to do great things even if they aren't the most talented player on the team. I hope no matter what happens, he can move forward and put this all behind him.

I say it's up to ARob.

My sense is Kirk would take him back with a suspension if he cleaned up his act.

But it would be a short leash.

Oh, so has he been proven guilty of anything yet? I am sure this was a good xmas present to all of you that convict people without a trial and then rev up the rumor mill. Will you apologize to him if he stays? How about if he was more of a victim than a perpetrator? Gotta love Hawk fans. Always half empty.

We all love it when home-grown Hawks succeed, or make it back on the field like Spievey, Greene or Solomon. But at what point does Kirk and staff say, "Enough is enough!"

My guess is ARob--unless the circumstances are vastly different than we are reading/seeing/hearing--will not be back.

Let's not forget when Arvell Nelson and James Cleveland got the boot. As far as we know, theirs was a first offense. On the other hand, they had a fair amount of contraband, evidently. If ARob was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, he may just see a suspension. And if he stays through that, all credit in the world to him.

Unfortunately, I think toting weed and/or being in the presence of someone doing same on the eve of our bowl game--which he wasn't allowed to attend in the first place--speaks volumes of his possible disdain for the staff. Sad, really.

You cant be serious, it has nothing to do with being proven guilty, he was in a car with someone who had weed, the car smelt of it. With the whole DJK situation he should have never put himself in a position to be with anyone smoking pot, he knew exactly what he was doing, he was not the victim in any way shape or form, get real.

UNI looks like a pretty good destination for ARob. If not UNI, another 1-AA team.
He'd be eligible immediately and with his success at Iowa, he shouldn't have trouble finding a good program to take him.

It would be interesting for UNI if they had a backfield of ARob and Wegher next year...might make them pretty tough offensively.

Obviously no one has been found guilty yet. My guess is Kirk isn't going to wait and see how this plays out in court. He doesnt have to. He'll play judge and jury and do what he thinks is best for the program. I don't think ARob's yet to be determined innocence or guilt will play a role in the ultimate decision.

Up to AROB? He has no say right now whatsoever. None. He is awaiting is Hawkeye fate. I sense he is gone..

I doubt Kirk waits until the court system determines anything. Kirk should know what he actually did. Does it really matter what his formal charges are?

Arob will be a back up at best. Coker has earned the top spot and will not give it up. I hope he keeps his nose clean and understands that it's a privlidge to to play for the university of Iowa and not a right. All kids attending both Iowa and ISU should understand this.
