Arkansas Getting Votes?

Did you watch Arkansas cruise past LSU on Saturday? The same LSU team that handled Wisconsin earlier this year. Every team in the SEC West is better than the any team in the B10 West. It's a fact, the conferences aren't even comparable.

Your right, the conferences aren't comparable. but you realize regardless of how competitive they've been in those losses their wins over the last two years have come against:

Ragin Cajuns
Samford
Southern Miss
Nichols St.
Texas Tech
UAB
and LSU (which I'd use the term "handled" loosely considering they trailed by 11 going into the 4th quarter)

Just my opinion but the games they have won over the past 2 seasons aren't a very solid body of work. Despite the close games and being competitive I don't see a resume that jumps them to the top of any other conference in the nation if taken out of the SEC.

Minor details LOL, people need to stop thinking anybody in the B10 West is that good. Look at the non-conf results, Minnesota got crushed by TCU, we lost to ******* Iowa St, Northwestern lost to Cal and Northern Illinois, Nebraska almost lost to McNeese St. I'm sure we'll get to play a couple SEC teams in bowl games and we'll have the chance to watch the B10 get manhandled as usual.

NW beat Notre Dame and Wisconsin. Wisconsin just put up a million on Nebraska. So Cal and NW would beat Nebraska by 100? Got it

Umm, Arkansas beat LSU 17-0.

One conference loses a lot of out of conference games to crappy teams, the other conference doesn't lose a single out of conference game while racking up several quality wins along the way. Get it?

I'm not saying beating LSU isn't a good win. I'm saying that collectively with the LSU game included that I don't see it as a resume to say this team would win any division in any other conference.

So Arkansas wins their first SEC game in two years and snaps a 17 game conference losing streak, moves to 1-5 in the conference and they are now getting votes in the AP Poll??? Wow. I know there is some major SEC bias out there but this takes the cake. Something is fishy with that.

There really isn't anything fishy. Voters are rewarding the SEC (call it bias) because year in and year out, whether it be in bowl games or in regular season non-conference match-ups they have by far the best winning percentage among the Power 5 conferences.

Now this year many SEC teams scheduled tomato cans for their non-conference games. If they tank in their bowl match-ups, maybe they'll be some backlash. But the SEC as a whole, rarely tanks in their bowl match-ups so its probably going to take a rather large sample size over the course of more than one season for voters and talking heads to stop giving the SEC the benefit of the doubt.
