We'll have to bring our A game next week.

Is anyone else worried about time zone & heat factors in this game?

45-3 now.
They looked good last week too. At least i think we didn't get anybody injured, did we?

Tillison and White.

However, what's cool is that Tarp and Prater came back pretty nicely from injury. Also, Binns made a pretty triumphant return from suspension too. That will definitely help the D in their preparations. Furthermore, Johnson and Davis continued to receive a lot of reps too.

And, on O, we got back Koeppel ... and he saw reps. Furthermore, we could be getting Gettis back any time now.

We absolutely have to bring our "A-game", but 41-2 over Toledo and 52-6 over Citadel tells us absolutely nothing about Arizona.

No worries. Its a night game and the time zone is just one hour difference. UA played two cupcakes and even though they rolled, they haven't been challenged by a decent squad. They will not score double digits against the Hawks.

Precisely. Exactly like 37-7 over EIU and 35-7 over L'Ames tells us absolutely nothing about ourselves.

Nobody thought the Clones would be any good this year - I'm guessing we're just the first of several teams that are going to put this kind of hurting on them.

Arizona will be a major test.

"Nobody thought the Clones would be any good this year."

Yet many on this board were very concerned about the Iowa/clown game and some even thought the clowns might upset Iowa. Many thought Iowa would have trouble with yesterday and that the game would be close. Now everyone says the clowns weren't a good football team yet all week most were saying they were vastly improved and would definitely give Iowa a fight.

Which is it? Did we know "all along that the clowns really weren't any good" but were just saying the right things? Now suddenly the clowns just weren't a good football team?

Maybe the clowns aren't all that bad but Iowa is just THAT much better. Maybe that is the gage people should be looking at?

Arizona just beat two cupcakes. No we have no idea how good they are. But we do KNOW how good Iowa is. Rarely have we seen an Iowa team perform like this, this early in the season if ever. That alone should tell us something about this Iowa team.

Many of you can hem and haw about next week but Arizona will face a top 5 team IMO and it is they who had better be ready. KF and the staff will have this team ready to play. This is a very exeperienced team on BOTH sides of the both with huge talent on BOTH sides of the ball. Iowa has one of the top defenses in college football; they also have a senior QB with weapons surrounding him and an OL that will continue to improve and TWO very good running backs.

A 1-hour time change...they have 2-hour time changes in the Big 10 consistently. The heat factor might be something but other than our Offense being on the field too much, it might be the AZ defense wearing down, not Iowa's defense. We are fairly deep so we can rotate on defense. Norm will have the guys ready on defense.

The Arizona coaches know what is coming west next Saturday and they it is a big, fast, physical, experienced football team with many weapons on both sides of the ball and they know they will have their hands more than full even to keep up!

I'll say as I said about the Iowa State game, this game doesn't concern me. Iowa dominated basically the same team last season. Take the pick 6 off the board, which I know is part of the game btw, but take it off the board and the game was even more lopsided. I say this because Ricky is playing at a different level right now.

Folks need to realize just how much talent this Iowa team has on it. Iowa is as solid as any team in the nation and as Paul Rhoades said, there really isn't a weakness when you break them down.

Very true. Toledo is a mediocre at best mac team (5-7 last year) and Citadel is a bad fcs team (4-7 last year) Whereas EIU (even though they got beat again 37-7 by central arkansas) was an fcs playoff team finishing 8-4 and isu won a bowl game finishing at 7-6.

Here are a few numbers that jumped out at me about Arizona's game last night. I watched the first half and the Citadel had success running the ball. They ended up with over 150 yds rushing. Yes, I realize the Citadel is an option team but they held the ball more then five minutes more then AU. Yes once again I know that time of possession is over rated but I think that you will see our o-fence able to play ball control football and chew up the clock. That's the type of game plan the we all are use to seeing and it can be your best d-fence sometimes. It will be up to our d-fence to contain their athletes on the offensive side of the ball. I'm not to worried about their run game but their passing game is potent. I think in the end Iowa wins 33 to 17.

Mike Stoops has had this game circled for 12 months. I think it would behoove Iowa fans to stay humble. It is a two hour flip, right? I believe they are on PST,right?

On paper,Iowa looks solid so far, but so does Az. Foles is probably the best pure passer Iowa will face all year...he is an NFL prospect. He ripped Iowa up last year when he got in there late. Criner is a stud WR. I smell a shootout...like Iowa 24 Az 23...close game to the end.

Even if Iowa loses, the good news is they can still win the Big Ten and go to the Rose Bowl...maybe for a re-match with the Cats. I would rather win the second game vs Az. Eye on the prize,fans....Rose Bowl 2011!!!
