Are we overlooking Anthony Clemmons?

Even local fans of Ingram admit his outside shot is ''undeveloped'' to be kind.
I like what I hear, but no one is saying he can shoot with any consistency.
I am picturing Terone Johnson of Purdue..strong,slashing,guard who can operate in the paint but defensible due to lack of outside threat. I am hoping that Clemmons has a more complete game, and that Fran finds a shooter this spring, which could allow for a redshirt for Ingram/Meyer or both.

If Ingram can improve his outside shot he will be the most athletic guard the Hawks have had in a long time, give him a couple of years but I cant wait to watch next yrs team and who will be in the top 8 -9 rotation.
"top 8 -9 rotation"
Marble/White: for sure
Woody/Gesell: barring unforeseen frosh syndrome
McCabe/Basabe: proven role players
Oglesby: we need shooters
May: Fran thought he had to best spring of any player on the team last year and he's the only senior

That's 8. Everyone talks about Meyer, Ingram, Clemmons, Olaseni but there are only so many minutes. If any of the 8 above get less than 15 min/gm it's got to be considered a surprise given Fran's past usage of them. That means it's unlikely that any of the 4 below get more than say 10/gm this coming year. Of course it's possible, but it would be a surprise.

how can he be overlooked? It's pretty hard to have a clue about a kid who hasn't played in the prime time league yet let alone a college game. He may turn out to be the best of all of em. Or he may turn into eric may. Not worth talking about yet too soon

Is it really neccessary to insult Eric May like that. I am sure that Eric is out during practice busting his hump like everyone else. At the time Lick left the program he was one of the better prospects Fran had coming in. Unlike many others he decided to stick it out and honor his comittment to the Hawkeyes. He could have transferred to several other programs at the time because of the promise he showed during his Freshman year. Hats off to him and to Matt for their loyalty and comittment to the Iowa program.

Eric May has been injured on & off since late December 2010. Up until that point he was the best player on the team! At least offensively. Look at the stats until that point in the season... He now has a bad back. Hawk fans are ranting with ignorance far too often!

If May can stay healthy for all, or most, of next season, that will be a Very good thing for Iowa.

Clemmons will be a good Hawkeye. Once he gets here and puts in serious hours, Fran will have a great player on his hands. I think ALL of our recruits can be very good. If they listen to Fran AND put in the amount of time AW has put in.
