are reporters going to Kirk about not using last timeout on defense

he could have saved 40 seconds which would have been huge on last drive where u can still run a draw screen or even a sweep

I bet nearly 99 percent of college and nfl coaches use that last time out when mich had 4th and 2

also questions to Kirk about his OC and lack of preparedness

Our media will never ask that. Instead, they’ll get defensive and ask why we don’t ask kirk ourselves by calling the double screened softball teeball show hosted at Texas Roadhouse on Wednesday nights

Yeah. I get it.

But really, would it have mattered with the offense AWOL?

Listen we all know you take that timeout and save 40 seconds because when you get the ball you can stop the clock by first down, incompletion, spiking the ball, running out of bounds and maybe another way that eludes me.

Whatever use the timeout on defense when Mich has 4th and 2 at their own 28 with about 2.5 minutes to go. Instead they punt with about 1:50 to go and the second punt takes it down to 1:35.

Probably not but give your offense a little more time and knowing you can run a draw or throw it shorter and still let some time run but be in hurry up mode. 40 seconds is a lot of time.

Whaaaat?! When did they move it to the Roadhouse?

of course, on our 2-minute drill...first 3 plays...2 yards and burn last time out. worst 2-minute offense in CFB, 21-years running...

It makes zero sense to not use it there. That said, we actually needed it for the 4th down play anyway so in hindsight it didn't hurt. But it was still really stupid.

Exactly. KF was showcasing his unbelievable clock management skills again. Just like the end of the first half when he was doing the same thing by using timeouts, and giving them a chance to get in field goal range.

It really is. You'd think they would be embarrassed to run a two minute offense like that. High school teams have better hurry up offenses than we do.

Are reporters going to ever ask a hard question? Come on its Iowa City. And Fort Ferentz. You dont ask questions that may get you banned.

NO. You save it for the offensive drive. That gives you at least one chance to go down the middle, run a draw, etc or for something unforeseen (or completely foreseen like Stanley getting sacked). You don't spend them all on D with that much time left.
