per TL as reported on Scout. I guess we have abundant inside depth to win this year.

It was also mentioned on Scout that TL anticipates Tucker to return, though he still hasnt returned to Iowa City, or school.

I'm glad he is red shirting this year. He is long and athletic and could provide quality minutes next year on a team that has a much better shot at winning than this years team does.

The fact he has already missed almost half the season, plus needing to recoup from pneumonia (which usually takes a considerable length of time, especially to get into playing shape), makes this a "no brainer" redshirt no matter how the season is going.

If he played part of the season this year instead of redshirting he would come back next year with experience.

The fact that some Iowa fans see this as a positive for next year's team is mind boggling.

Playing and getting experience is a big positive to me, especially for what it would offer next year ( as you mention Freddy ). I'm not a fan of the redshirt. Freddy I also agree with your last comment.

I don't agree with the redshirt either, esp considering it hurts the spacing of the schollies and loses Iowa a 2011 recruit.
