Anyone watchin the playoffs?

Both the Bulls and Nets look so far below Miami I will be surprised if whoever comes out of that series even gets a game from the Heat.

Playoff bb is game to game, and you can never judge a series by a single game or two. The Bulls have played the Heat better than anyone since Lebron went to Miami, and beat them 3 of 4 again this year...including snapping that 28 game winning streak beating them without 2 of their allstars(Noah and DRose). Bottom line, the Bulls match up as well vs the Heat as anyone in the league, due to Deng's ability to take on Lebron by himself, and now Butler/Hinrich's ability to take on DWade.

The Bulls need to figure out how to get by the Nets without DRose, then hope he returns for the Heat...but even without DRose, the Bulls will get at least one game vs the Heat...probably two.

Chris Paul is a tough little SOB on that last drive...shouldering away the bigger Tony Allen to give himself just enough space to get that shot off in the paint at the buzzer for the winner. Fun player to watch. Grizz will not lay down, and will probably come back to LA tied 2-2.

By the way, what in the hell is up with DRose!? Isn't he more than a year removed from his ACL surgery? Of course you don't want to rush back, but c'mon. Is he just waiting until they absolutely need him, like if they get matched up vs. the Heat or what?

He's probably watching Thibs run the rest of the Bulls into the ground and thinking of his future earnings potential. Smart move by him. The amount of minutes Thibs plays his guys in the regular season is just crazy and it's no wonder they have so many injuries come playoff time.

The Bulls match up well with the Heat in the regular season, not the playoffs, that's an important distinction to make. Thibs is a regular season coach, as I alluded to in my previous post. He coaches every regular season game like it's a playoff game, plays his key guys a ridiculous amount of minutes and that means the Bulls have no higher gear to go to in the playoffs, you've already seen their best throughout the regular season.

The Heat have another playoff gear, when they shortened the rotation, play LeBron 40+ a night, give him tougher defensive assignments, and just in general pick their play up to another level.

Having D-Rose come back now will hurt the Bulls a lot more than it helps. Even when he was healthy the Bulls were worse on defense with him on the court than they were with him on the bench. The Bulls defense is the only thing that can keep them in the game with Miami, and if you think Rose can help offensively when he hasn't played in a game in over a year and is planning on jumping back in against Miami's playoff defense, well you're very mistaken. Remember what happened two years ago when LeBron manhandled him the entire series, now imagine that with a very rusty Rose, that's not a good picture for Bulls fans.

That's not accurate. They split with eachother this season, 2-2.

And what's the Bulls "played the Heat better than anyone since LeBron went to Miami" coming from? Have they won a series vs. the Heat? Didn't think so. Whereas the Mavericks did win a series vs. them, so I'd have to say that they've played them the best, and yes I know that original team isn't even close to being intact anymore.

Barnes needs to step up if Golden St wants to have a chance at winning, the Nuggets have been daring him to beat them. They are constantly helping off of him.

I think Barnes would have to step WAY up to make a difference. Not hating on him - glad to see an Iowa kid making in the league - just saying he has the appearance of a guy still feeling out his role (which you would expect from an R).

They swept them in the regular season in '2010-'11, that counts for something, right? Right?

And people wonder why its so hard to play good D in the NBA... JR smith finishes the quarter with a fade away jumper. Dont mind the slap to the face that wont slow him down and then follows it up.with a last second three from just over half court. Its just amazing what these guys can do offensively and i dont understand how a basketball fan cant have at least some sort of appreciation for the NBA.

My Celtics look like the blind and deaf old dog that is wandering around waiting to die.

Exactly. They miss Rondo a lot. I agree with Stephen A Smith who this morning said Rondo is one of the best PG's in the league during the regular season but he always stepped up his game even more in the playoffs.

I didnt think they could realistically beat the Heat in the playoffs but thought they could make the East Finals and maybe push Miami to 6 games.

Right now, they are looking like they could get swept though.

They'll get 1 back in Boston. Just my guess.

The Bulls have the best record vs the Heat in the league since 2010,when Lebron went to the Heat...I believe it is like 10-7....not sure that the Mavs can match that overall.

As for the Bulls chances vs the Heat this year, I admitted that they were slim, but the Bulls do have the elements needed to stick with the Heat,ie..defensive matchups that are decent vs Lebron and DWade.

DRose has been practicing full-speed for almost two months,so it is not like he will be just starting to comeback from his injury. He will certainly not be without rust, and still impaired, but if he contributed 15-20 minutes off the bench,it could be very helpful. The Bulls at full strength would be better than the 2010 version of the Bulls, I think, mainly because Noah is better, Butler is coming on strong, and even Boozer is playing a bit better, plus Hinrich would be a better backup pg off the bench than CJ Watson.

After watching the Knicks lately, I am starting to think they might just give the Heat a good series, because of their inside defensive presence in Tyson and K-Mart....and JR Smith/Melo's ability to score. Heat are the favorites, clearly, but, like with DRose blowing out his knee last year....stuff happens.

Barnes stepped up bigtime last nite with 24 pts, along with Klay Thompson,Curry and the other pg....wild game..Warriors shoot 65%...crazy series. Gonna be fun now going back to the rabid GS arena.
