Anyone see the handshake after the game? Fran - Bruce

Is Fran well liked among Big Ten coaches? Izzo, Crean, Carmody haven't exactly been friendly with him either.

I am pretty sure the other coaches in the conference would have preferred we retain Lick.

True, and I am kinda hoping Illinois makes a run and wins the CBI to retain Weber. I cannot imagine what a good coach could do at Illinois.

Meh, maybe they don't the fact Fran can be a bit more demonstrative..

I think Fran gives credit to other teams and coaches when Iowa loses etc, so
its not like the guy is dissing other teams or anything.

Not his fault things went down they way they did at Iowa with Lick.

Barely shook - no eye contact - blow by.

No sure if it has any relevance.

At the end of the game at Illinois they shared a warm handshake and seemed very cordial, Weber is a dead man walking he looked more like he was in shock probably didnt see his team losing to the Hawks.

If nobody else in the Big Ten likes Fran, that's fine by me. I'd rather kick everyone elses arses and make the rest of the league hate us than be at the bottom of the conference and have a coach like Lick who everyone loves to death.

AMEN!! I'm with you!

True, it looked like they had a brief cordial conversation after the game in Champaign. I'm sure today was more that Weber probably realized he had just lost a job that pays a couple milliion per year, I know I'd be a little disappointed to lose that kind of cash.

Fran may rub coaches the wrong way with his fiery antics during the game, but I'm not sure they dislike him. Seems like most pre-games, you can see Fran and the opposing coach having a bried discussion, which I don't think you'd do if you hated the guy.

You may be overthinking this. This is the first day of a conference tournament with back-to-back televised games. I would imagine the coaches and players were instructed to exit quickly so event staff could clean the bench area to get ready for the next game. I'm guessing that applied to related parties sitting behind the benches as well. That certainly wouldn't have precluded Fran and Bruce from stopping to speak, but my bet is both programs were told to leave quickly, and that's what likely happened.

The officiating and score-keeping crews also are changing at that point, so there's a lot of traffic in that area, thus the impetus to keep things moving quickly.

If you noticed, during Matt's post-game BTN interview Indy and Penn State were both taking the floor for warm-ups.
