Anyone else feel sorry for Prater and Hyde?

2 athletic, fairly physical conerbacks with decent size, with good experience under their belts, but yet not really allowed to do much or 'making plays' b/c the system calls them to sit way back in very soft zones and let guys make catches all day against them. :( I feel these guys could be great man-to-man corners, jamming receivers off the ball and shutting down opponents #1 and #2 WR.

It's not the scheme. I don't remember Spievey having to sit back. It's the front 4 with no pressure. Last year Prater was able to press more. It's due to the players through the scheme.

Would love to see 8 or 9 in the box this week and let those 2 go man to man.

I would rather get beat with a long TD bass than just getting it pounded down our throat again

I agree with Farmer. The front four is getting close to zero pressure, even against the likes of the Rodents.

This guy never lets you know where he's going on the field. No emotion.

This pretty much sums it up. We are playing in soft zones more often this year because we can't get much pressure on the QB. If we consistantly were in the backfield I wouldnt doubt that KF and NP would call more man coverages. I can't stand the quick 5 yard pass plays that we give up but I would rather give up 5 yrds vs 25 yrds.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. That's what our defense provides to us as far as stying in what we have, or blitzing more.

Right now the personnel isn't there. It's the front 4. The linebackers are average, not amazing, but they can't fight blocks every play, it limits their ability.
